Analog Devices Federal LLC. is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Production Planning Manager to join our team in Chelmsford, MA. This role will lead the Development and Commercial Planning teams, providing leadership and oversight for production planning activities supporting new product and government program development as well as established commercial production. The successful candidate will partner closely with Business Units, Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and internal and external customers to identify constraints, mitigate supply and execution risks, and ensure production commitments are effectively managed. This role requires strong people leadership, communication, planning, analytical, and project management skills, as well as the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is fully onsite in Chelmsford, MA, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days. ResponsibilitiesLead, develop, and provide day-to-day direction to the Development and Commercial Planning teams, driving consistent planning processes, execution, and accountability. Oversee production planning activities across development programs and commercial manufacturing to ensure build plans align with customer requirements, program priorities, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. Establish priorities and provide planning direction for work orders, production schedules, material readiness, and customer commitments. Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Procurement, and Business Units to develop and execute production strategies for new and existing programs. Lead quarterly and longer-range manufacturing planning activities, balancing demand, capacity, material availability, and customer need dates. Monitor production performance, WIP, material availability, and schedule adherence, identifying constraints and driving cross-functional actions to mitigate risk. Ensure timely and accurate communication of production status, shipment commitments, planning risks, and recovery actions to key stakeholders. Oversee planning activities associated with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including assessments of impacts to finished goods, work-in-process, raw materials, and future production requirements. Drive proactive identification and mitigation of supply, capacity, and production risks that could impact internal and external customer commitments. Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to manage component availability, critical material constraints, and piece-part requirements supporting production plans. Ensure planning teams maintain accurate order status, commit dates, material requirements, and planning parameters within SAP and associated planning systems. Develop and maintain planning metrics, dashboards, and reporting that provide visibility into production performance, material readiness, schedule risk, and customer commitments. Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, tools, reporting, and cross-functional workflows. Coach and develop team members, establish performance expectations, and build planning capabilities that support both current production requirements and future business growth. RequirementsU.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive experience in production planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or a related discipline, with prior leadership or team management experience preferred. Experience working in a complex manufacturing environment supporting multiple programs, products, or customer requirements. Strong knowledge of production planning, supply chain principles, MRP, capacity planning, inventory management, and manufacturing processes. SAP or comparable ERP/MRP system experience. Demonstrated ability to understand complex bills of material (BOMs) and translate MRP requirements into actionable production and material plans. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify planning risks, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive resolution. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Program Management, and Supply Chain. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
