Your Job Georgia-Pacific is seeking a self-directed Area Purchasing Manager to support the Corrugated business within Strategic Sourcing & Procurement. This role leads local procurement execution, supports storeroom operations, partners with Operations and functional teams, and drives procurement best practices across assigned Corrugated facilities. The ideal candidate brings strategic and tactical purchasing, stores, inventory, and supply chain experience; works with urgency; solves problems; and collaborates across disciplines to meet Operation’s needs. This role creates value by strengthening partnerships, improving procurement processes, supporting transformation, and optimizing total cost of ownership. This site-based role may sit at one of the assigned Corrugated facilities: Waxahachie, TX Denton. TX Travel between supported locations, including 20% possible overnight travel, is expected. Our Team Georgia-Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization sources and procures critical supplies, materials, services, and resources that support our facilities. SS&P partners with business and operations leaders to improve decisions, leverage best practices, capture savings, and create efficiency across the business. This role helps connect local site needs with broader sourcing strategies, disciplined procurement standards, inventory optimization, and value-creation opportunities for the Corrugated business. What You Will Do Lead purchasing and support stores across assigned Corrugated facilities, ensuring procurement and storeroom processes are disciplined, reliable, and aligned with business priorities. Build strong partnerships with site leaders, Operations, Maintenance, corporate teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders to understand needs and deliver long-term value. Source, purchase, negotiate, and manage inventory, equipment, MRO, services, supplies, and other external vendor needs. Streamline and sustain procurement processes across assigned locations and the broader Corrugated network. Drive appropriate use of national, regional, and local contract agreements for goods and services. Identify local spending opportunities for competitive bidding, value improvement, and lowest total cost of ownership. Optimize working capital and inventory levels while supporting reliable storeroom execution and operational continuity. Collaborate with facility and headquarters teams to implement corporate initiatives and procurement transformation work. Ensure compliance with safety, purchasing, fiduciary, stores, and environmental policies and procedures. Create value through process improvement, supplier engagement, inventory optimization, and alignment between site needs and procurement strategy. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience with inventory or storeroom management Including experience with Inventory Management systems. Experience sourcing, purchasing, or supporting procurement in a manufacturing, operations, or facility-based environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Willing and able to travel 20% of the time between supported locations, including overnight travel as needed. Experience evaluating spending, improving purchasing processes, and reducing total cost of ownership. Experience supporting procurement transformation, process change, root-cause identification, and corrective actions. What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or similar field Minimum three years of purchasing or supply chain related experience Manufacturing experience Experience negotiating with local, regional, or national contracts Experience evaluating spending improving purchasing processes and reducing total cost of ownership.
