Senior Product Manager India Telangana Hyderabad
Microsoft
Job description
Product direction: Own the strategy and roadmap for a data and services product area. Understand engineering teams' needs and prioritize reusable capabilities that address common problems, rather than one-off reports. Data products: Define requirements across telemetry ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, and APIs. Partner on schema evolution, data quality, freshness, privacy, and access control so downstream consumers can trust and use the data. Measurement and analysis: Establish metric definitions, baselines, and cohorts across devices, silicon, and customer segments. Use SQL/KQL and statistical reasoning to investigate metric movements, distinguish regressions from measurement changes, and guide investments. Service fundamentals: Partner with engineering on service-level objectives, observability, scale, latency, availability, and cost. Define safe-release criteria and balance new capabilities with service health, security, compliance, and learning from live-site incidents. Windows outcomes: Help define measurable targets and regression guardrails for responsiveness, battery life, memory efficiency, and reliability. Connect insights to prioritized engineering action and track whether changes improve customer scenarios. Cross-team delivery: Align engineering, data science, security, and partner PM teams on scope, dependencies, and tradeoffs. Drive delivery across related feature areas, resolve ambiguity, and raise risks early. Automation and adoption: Prioritize self-service diagnostics, alerting, and validated AI-assisted analysis that help teams detect issues earlier and reduce manual investigation. Measure adoption, diagnostic effectiveness, time saved, and impact on Windows fundamentals. Technical leadership: Communicate complex findings and tradeoffs clearly. Strengthen product thinking through knowledge sharing, mentorship, and inclusive collaboration. Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development. OR equivalent experience. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in product management, program management, software engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role. Experience leading a data platform, analytics product, or cloud service initiative from problem definition through delivery and adoption in partnership with engineering. Hands-on experience using SQL, Kusto Query Language (KQL), or equivalent tools to investigate large datasets, assess measurement quality, and guide product decisions. Ability to reason about data pipelines, APIs, service dependencies, and operational tradeoffs, and translate customer needs into clear requirements and measurable outcomes. Working knowledge of system performance, power efficiency, or reliability, and the ability to connect technical metrics to customer experience. Experience with lab or deployed-device telemetry, cohort design, experimentation, anomaly detection, or data-quality systems. Experience with Windows, operating systems, devices, or hardware-software interactions that affect performance, power, and reliability. Familiarity with Kusto, Azure or comparable data platforms, and production service operations, including monitoring, incident learning, service-level objectives, and cost optimization. Demonstrated ability to align multiple teams and turn ambiguous technical problems into a sequenced roadmap with measurable results. Experience addressing privacy, security, access control, and retention requirements in data products. Experience evaluating automation or AI-assisted analysis for engineering workflows, including accuracy, usefulness, and adoption.
