We are now looking for a Senior Manufacturing Scientist to join our Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team in Uppsala. In this role, you will serve as a key technical expert supporting assembly and packaging operations, driving process performance, product quality, and continuous improvement through scientific expertise and data-driven decision-making. The Role As a Senior Manufacturing Scientist, you will provide technical oversight and process support for commercial manufacturing activities while partnering closely with production, quality, engineering, validation, and supply chain teams. You will play a central role in investigations, process optimization initiatives, and the application of analytical tools to improve operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Provide scientific and technical support for assembly and packaging processes. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process robustness, efficiency, and product quality. Lead and support complex investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions. Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Apply statistical and analytical methodologies to support process understanding and optimization. Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve technical challenges and ensure reliable manufacturing operations. Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance activities. Ensure manufacturing processes operate in accordance with GMP requirements and applicable regulatory expectations. Contribute technical expertise to validation, risk assessments, and change management activities. Who You Are You combine strong scientific knowledge with a practical manufacturing mindset. You enjoy solving complex technical problems, working with data, and influencing stakeholders across functions to deliver sustainable improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or another relevant scientific or engineering discipline. Approximately 6-10 years of experience within biopharmaceutical, medical device, or manufacturing environments. Strong experience in investigations, root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Excellent analytical skills, including data collection, interpretation, and reporting. Knowledge of cGMP requirements and regulatory frameworks. Experience supporting inspections and regulatory audits. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills. Technical Expertise Assembly and packaging processes and manufacturing equipment. Data analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, Python, R, Power BI, or Spotfire. Manufacturing systems including MES, LIMS, ERP, and SCADA. Statistical and quality methodologies such as SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma. GMP regulations and guidelines, including FDA, EMA, ICH, and Annex 1 requirements. Validation principles, risk assessment, and quality-by-design approaches. Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification. Experience with digital validation systems and advanced analytics platforms. Experience working in multi-site manufacturing organizations or CMO environments. Why Join Galderma?
