The Position Boehringer Ingelheim's HR function is entering the era of agentic AI. Building on our established AI, we are launching a dedicated Data & AI initiative to reimagine how HR services and processes are delivered across the globe. As Senior AI Expert, you will be the technical and strategic driving force behind this transformation: designing, building and scaling agentic AI solutions that make HR services smarter, faster and more personal for employees, managers and HR experts alike. You will join the IT Group Functions & Supply Chain (GFS) Global HR Systems team responsible for our core global HR platforms SAP SuccessFactors and act as the central Data & AI lead for the wider IT GFS Human Resources organization, partnering closely with Corporate HR Centers of Excellence, GBS Process Management, HR stakeholders in the countries and other IT functions like the IT Enterprise Service Management team bringing ServiceNow to the center of HR Service Management. Tasks & responsibilities Own and drive the Data & AI initiative for HR: define the roadmap, prioritize use cases and lead the transition of HR services and processes towards agentic, AI-first ways of working. Design, build and industrialize agentic AI solutions and multi-step AI workflows for HR processes using platforms such as SAP Business AI/ SAPJoule, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Dify, ServiceNow Now Assist and more. Define and safeguard the data foundation for AI in HR: identify and prioritize HR “crown jewel” datasets, drive onboarding of AI-/agentic-AI-ready data products, and ensure data quality, semantics and governance meet the requirements of generative and agentic AI use cases. Establish and champion agentic AI governance for HR in line with BI's enterprise Responsible AI frameworks: agent lifecycle and ownership, permissions and data boundaries, human oversight, monitoring, and audit readiness. Build the business case, cost/benefit assessment and prioritization matrix for AI use cases in HR and translate them into a concrete execution roadmap with measurable business outcomes. Requirements Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with more professional experience. Several years of experience in AI and data-driven solution design, ideally combined with exposure to HR technology, HR processes, or HR IT landscapes within a global organization. Proven experience leading or significantly contributing to AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives from ideation through implementation and scaling. Hands-on experience with SAP Business AI and SAP Joule, including embedded AI capabilities across SAP SuccessFactors and the ability to configure, extend, and govern AI solutions. Practical knowledge of agentic AI concepts and platforms, including low-code/no-code and code-based AI development environments. Understanding of AI data foundations, including data products, data quality, semantic and metadata management, and familiarity with enterprise data and AI ecosystems. Familiarity with HR technology landscapes such as SAP SuccessFactors, ServiceNow HR Service Delivery, Degreed, Payroll, and Time Management systems. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, combined with strategic thinking, a hands-on approach, experience working across global and cross-functional teams, intercultural awareness Fluency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
