Main responsibilities: Working with early- and/or late-stage clinical development teams, the candidate will have the opportunity to elaborate clinical biomarker plans for oncology/immunology programs from the pre-candidate selection up to submission stage. Deliver high quality biomarker strategies for patient selection, target engagement and pharmacodynamics endpoints. Ensure the output of the biomarker plans meets established program standards (within budget, on schedule, compliant, etc.), while also looking for opportunities to streamline progress without compromising quality. Partner with internal functions such as biomarker operational management, labs for biomarker assay development and clinical bioanalysis, biostatistics, bio-informatics experts and clinical stakeholders. Lead the clinical biomarker sub team with representatives from these functions, coordinating efforts for data generation, interpretation and will manage communication flow related to key biomarker program information, risks and milestones across key stakeholders including therapeutic area leadership, functional leads and team members. Analyse progress, be engaged in critical thinking and be oriented towards problem-solving and risk mitigation. Interface with discovery laboratories to drive implementation of preclinical/translational projects based on emerging clinical/translational datasets. As appropriate, provide biomarker expertise to progress validated biomarkers into development of pharmaco-diagnostic tools. Proactively identify and engage external KOL’s on specific hypothesis-driven collaborations to complement internal effort and will drive the publication of biomarker and translational research for respective studies. About You Minimum Qualifications: PhD or MD (or equivalent) required. 5+ years in drug development or research Fluent English Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in oncology, immuno-oncology or immunology Deep understanding of the role of translational research/medicine and clinical biomarkers in drug development. Lab experience in biomarker detection/measurements (e.g. by Elisa, flow-cytometry, IHC, mass spec). Ability to effectively cooperate and partner with several functions that could be testified by working experience in projects (for instance as global project lead or core team member). Knowledge in companion diagnostic. Communication and analytical skills to regularly interface with a wide variety of stakeholders within and outside the organization.
