Your Job Koch Capabilities India is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize scalable data platforms, pipelines, and database solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization. You will leverage your technical expertise to build reliable, high-performance data systems, automate data processes, and ensure the availability, integrity, and efficiency of enterprise data assets. Our Team The Data Engineering team plays a critical role in enabling value creation through data. We work closely with internal stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain data products, pipelines, and APIs that support analytics, reporting, and business applications. Our team focuses on building scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions that empower teams to make informed decisions and deliver impactful outcomes. What You Will Do Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and team members. Design, architect, and develop end-to-end relational and NoSQL database solutions based on business requirements. Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and approaches to deliver scalable and maintainable data solutions. Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines using technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, Spark, Java, and Python. Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into system designs, data flows, data models, and technical solutions. Develop applications and solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, design standards, and engineering best practices. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database and data platform performance, reliability, and scalability. Automate operational processes and build monitoring tools to improve system efficiency and observability. Investigate and resolve technical issues through debugging, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. Mentor team members and contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and technical frameworks. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehouse design. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities. Strong understanding of relational database concepts, database design, and query optimization techniques. Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python. Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale data processing systems. Understanding of DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Git, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Experience building, operating, and supporting high-volume data systems. Experience analyzing large and complex datasets to identify and resolve data quality and performance issues. Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other engineers. What Will Put You Ahead Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures and distributed data platforms. Experience with large-scale batch and streaming data processing solutions. Experience with Spring Framework, JPA, AOP, and REST-based application development. Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and services. Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, Keras, or related analytical frameworks. Familiarity with functional programming concepts and modern software engineering practices.
