Role Overview: As a Software Engineer in Corporate Solutions at Mastercard, you’ll work with modern full-stack development practices with a focus on microservice and database development. We’re building a global business-to-business (B2B) technology platform to help businesses of all sizes streamline how they manage payments when buying or selling products and services. You will work in our Mastercard technology hub, which provides a state-of-the-art environment for technology teams to thrive in our collaborative, Agile engineering culture. You will play a key role in how Mastercard transforms the B2B space to standardize, automate, and optimize digital payment efficiency for buyers and sellers. The role will require you to: • Play a pivotal role on the Agile team in the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions, system integrations, and enterprise applications that support business objectives and customer needs. • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software components, services, APIs, and user-facing applications while following established engineering standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices. • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to understand requirements, refine solutions, and deliver business value. • Translate complex business and system requirements into robust technical designs, implementation approaches, and maintainable software solutions. • Independently execute key elements of software engineering projects, applying deep technical expertise to resolve complex technical challenges, remove delivery roadblocks, and drive successful outcomes. • Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing software systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and technology standards. • Participate in solution design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical walkthroughs, providing recommendations that improve system quality, maintainability, and operational efficiency. • Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold engineering best practices, improve code quality, promote knowledge sharing, and reduce technical debt. • Work closely with Quality Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to ensure adequate functional coverage, testability, observability, security, and operational readiness throughout the software development lifecycle. • Support production systems by participating in incident management, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, defect resolution, and continuous service improvement activities. • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational best practices to improve system reliability, availability, and supportability. • Identify opportunities to improve application performance, scalability, maintainability, and security through proactive analysis, optimization, and modernization efforts. • Participate in requirements reviews, story elaborations, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and other Agile ceremonies to ensure technical readiness and successful delivery. Required Experience & Skills: • You have experience building applications using Java and PCF • You have extensive experience with Java APIs • Some experience with web technologies, including HTML, Javascript and front-end frameworks such as Angular • Optimizing applications for performance, scalability, and reliability. • Solid SQL development knowledge (i.e. PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc…) and delivering solutions that leverage them at a massive scale • You have exposure to automated testing and releasing software in a continuous delivery model using Git • You enjoy working in an Agile team focused on continuous improvement • You have a strong desire to learn best practices and modern software architecture and collaborate within a team • You are passionate about the art of delivering the highest quality software to customers • You have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people • Bachelors degree Nice To Have: • Experience working within the commercial card space or corporate banking • Strong ability to multi-task, organize, manage, and implement complex projects whether directly or through supervision • Operates with minimal supervision and able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently • Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer-oriented Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must: Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices; Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed; Report any suspected information security violation or breach, and Complete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
