YOUR IMPACT: As a Senior Software Engineer - Development, you will be part of the team building OpenText's critical Enterprise Output Management product suite, which is redefining how enterprises manage and deliver outputs from their business applications. You will work across the full software life cycle, from requirements analysis through design, coding, testing, and maintenance. You will partner with global colleagues and customers to understand business and functional needs, and you will have the opportunity to establish best practices that help ensure an exceptional customer experience. Our products range from enterprise backend and data-center systems to end-user-focused applications, with team members and customers located around the world. WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS: End-to-End Software Development Contribute to the full software life cycle, including requirements analysis, development, and delivery. Communicate actively with stakeholders to understand business and functional needs. Lead and participate in estimation activities. Work within a hybrid agile and waterfall development process. Product Development & Technical Leadership Lead and contribute actively to all product development activities, including investigation, design, coding, and testing. Build and enhance enterprise-grade software in C across Linux and Windows environments. Apply strong debugging and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex product and customer issues. Establish best practices that support product quality and an exceptional customer experience. Integration & Deployment Support application integration and deployment using technologies such as Perl, Python, REST, XML, JSON, UI frameworks, and web servers. Work with databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Use communication and web protocols such as HTTP, SSL, and FTP in product development and troubleshooting. Use network traces and other debugging tools to diagnose issues. Continuous Improvement & Innovation Generate new ideas that could optimize product maintenance. Identify opportunities to improve code quality, development practices, and supportability. Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of quality and engineering excellence. Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership Work closely with globally distributed team members, product stakeholders, and customers. Apply strong communication and problem-solving skills to align technical solutions with business needs. Collaborate with development, quality, and support teams to deliver reliable enterprise software. What you will need to succeed: Must-Have Skills Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field. 8+ years of software development experience. Strong understanding of and programming skills in "C" in Linux and Windows development environments. Experience working with databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle. Understanding of communication and web protocols, including HTTP, SSL, and FTP. Experience with source code repositories such as SVN and TeamForge environments. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Deep understanding of enterprise software, its life cycle, development and quality methodology, and hybrid agile and waterfall processes. Experience working with geographically distributed teams and customers. Nice-to-Have Skills Knowledge of debugging tools, including network trace analysis. Application integration and deployment experience with Perl, Python, REST, XML, JSON, UI, and web servers. Java experience. Experience contributing to enterprise backend or data-center products.
