Discover impactful work Our Hillsboro factory produces low-volume, high-complexity electron microscopy products used by semiconductor designers and manufacturers to create and improve their products and manufacturing processes. The Operations Engineering team supports the introduction of new products into the factory and the field, as well as ongoing improvements to products and the processes used to manufacture and service them. As a Manufacturing & Electrical Engineer II, you’ll support this work by helping develop manufacturing processes, analyzing product and process data, and assisting with electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting. You’ll collaborate with New Product Development, Manufacturing, Technical Support, and Service teams. This is a hands-on role that includes time on the manufacturing floor and in cleanroom environments. Responsibilities Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from initiation through release, following the Product Management Process (PMP). Assist with Technical Product Documentation (TPD), specifications, logistics, and document management. Collect and analyze product and manufacturing data to identify trends and opportunities for design, process, and quality improvements. Support sustaining projects, including component-obsolescence work for current and near-end-of-life products. Help develop and improve manufacturing processes for new products, including build and test procedures and preventative maintenance plans for field-supported products. Assist with electrical and system-level troubleshooting during product builds and in manufacturing or cleanroom environments. Support failure analysis and follow-up on technical issues in partnership with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams. Assist with tooling design or development for manufacturing and service to meet cycle-time and availability needs. Prepare and deliver initial training for Manufacturing, Technical Support, and Service personnel on product build, test, installation, and repair procedures. Support critical production and field issues with Global Technical Support and other teams. Minimum Requirements Education University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering; or a combination of technical education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Experience 1 or more years of experience as an Operations Engineer, Process Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or in a related field. Experience preparing technical documentation, procedures, and engineering reports. Experience analyzing data and using basic experimental methods, test protocols, and procedures. Experience participating in cross-functional technical projects. Experience supporting product development and deployment in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Practical Process Improvements (PPI), including cost reduction through workflow or design improvements. Experience reviewing data and driving improvements that affect quality. Experience with failure analysis and solving complex problems. Knowledge, skills, and abilities Ability to troubleshoot electrical or electromechanical equipment and follow structured problem-solving methods. Strong planning, organization, prioritization, and goal-setting skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and independently on assigned projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with sophisticated electromechanical equipment. Experience with HTML and scripting.
