Your Job As a Logistics Account Agent, you will secure cost-effective, asset-based capacity for spot freight while developing carriers that can support KBX over the long term. You will be accountable for covering spot loads, delivering a cost advantage compared with external brokerage options, reducing broker reliance, and converting repeatable spot capacity into contracted capacity. Strong communication, negotiation skills, reliability, trust and a continuous improvement mindset are attributes that would make you successful. Our Team The KBX Capacity Solutions Team plays a crucial role in ensuring freight moves efficiently and cost effectively for our customers. We specialize in building and managing strong carrier partnerships, forecasting and securing capacity across modes, and designing tailored solutions that balance reliability, cost-efficiency, and speed. Our team combines hands-on carrier management with data-driven planning and real-time execution to reduce disruptions, optimize utilization, and deliver transparent customer outcomes. What You Will Do Execute spot-market coverage opportunities to meet the needs of internal and external customers. Source, qualify, and onboard new asset-based carriers using GenLogs, DAT, Highway, and other available tools. Cover spot loads at a measurable cost advantage compared with external broker alternatives. Build carrier relationships that create repeatable capacity and convert successful spot activity into contracted or published-lane capacity. Reduce reliance on external brokers by expanding KBX’s directly managed asset-based carrier network. Manage a consistent load-coverage pipeline while balancing daily execution with longer-term carrier development. Track and improve results across load coverage, cost advantage, new carriers added, broker utilization, and spot-to-contract conversion. Foster cross-team collaboration and relationships with operational and procurement teams to build trust and increase reliability. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience in carrier management or transportation logistics Experience negotiating with carriers to drive cost savings or mitigation Experience working collaboratively with multiple internal and external teams What Will Put You Ahead Experience in freight brokerage or transportation procurement Experience reducing broker reliance and cultivating asset-based capacity Experience securing capacity within the flatbed and specialized equipment market In depth knowledge of KBX’s facility network Experience identifying operational bottlenecks to drive continued efficiency Multimodal experience and expertise At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
