Your Job John Zink (JZ), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking an Outside Technical Sales & Service Representative to join our team supporting Central and Eastern Canada. In this role, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to refinery, petrochemical, and power customers, helping them maximize the reliability, performance, and lifecycle value of their fired equipment assets. You will leverage deep combustion expertise, strong customer relationships, and proactive engagement to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges, and create long-term value for both customers and John Zink. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with a consultative, customer-focused mindset. Success in this role requires the ability to build trust with site personnel, maintenance teams, reliability engineers, operations leaders, and decision makers while identifying opportunities that improve customer outcomes and support profitable growth. You will support a wide range of John Zink technologies, including process burners, flares, thermal oxidizers, vapor combustors, and boiler burner systems. REMOTE : This role will work remotely from the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area and support customers throughout Central and Eastern Canada. Our Team You will work closely with Key Account Managers, Aftermarket Sales, Service, Engineering, and Operations teams to bring John Zink and broader Koch Engineered Solutions capabilities to our customers. Together, the team develops solutions that address customers' operational, reliability, environmental, and performance objectives while creating long-term value. What You Will Do Establish yourself as a trusted advisor by providing objective, integrity-driven recommendations that improve customer outcomes and strengthen long-term customer relationships. Maintain a consistent and purposeful presence within assigned customer accounts through site visits, inspections, technical consultations, training, and troubleshooting support. Support customer fired equipment assets throughout their lifecycle, including commissioning, optimization, maintenance planning, reliability initiatives, retrofits, upgrades, and end-of-life replacement planning. Lead turnaround planning efforts by identifying upcoming outages, conducting pre-turnaround inspections, developing equipment recommendations, and coordinating internal resources to maximize customer value and opportunity capture. Anticipate customer needs through ongoing engagement, reliability discussions, turnaround planning, and long-range capital planning activities. Capture and communicate Voice of Customer insights to influence future product development, service offerings, business strategy, and customer engagement approaches. Drive territory growth through proactive customer engagement, opportunity identification, and strategic account development. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience with process burners, flares, thermal oxidizers, vapor combustors, boiler burners, or related fired equipment. Experience building and growing customer relationships through direct engagement. Ability to travel 50% to customer sites and maintain a valid driver’s license. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to a variety of stakeholders. Legal authorization to work in Canada without requiring current or future visa sponsorship. What Will Put You Ahead Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or other relevant technical degree. Experience supporting refinery or petrochemical turnarounds (TARs), outages, or reliability-focused initiatives. Experience conducting equipment inspections and developing technical recommendations. Hands-on experience commissioning, tuning, troubleshooting, or optimizing combustion equipment. Industrial sales, aftermarket sales, technical services, or account management experience. Experience influencing technical, operational, and commercial stakeholders. Experience using Salesforce CRM, including opportunity management and reporting. For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000 - $190,000 CAD per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
