The Red Hat Container Tools team is looking for an Intern who is interested in Container Technologies to join us in Brno, CZ. In this role, you will work on container technologies to support internal and external customers. You will contribute to projects like podman, buildah, skopeo and other container related technologies. You’ll help with writing new features, review pull requests, fix bugs, update docs, and work in multiple technical areas. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain insights into how the containers are built, run and managed and help you to gain experience working in github, using golang and get introduced to the building blocks of containerized infrastructure. You’ll get to work on many emerging technologies, and maybe even create some new ones. This is a paid, part-time internship based in the Brno office, with flexible working hours. The expected start date is February 2027. What you will do: Participate in upstream communities and on a scrum team Develop new features in container technologies to support different products Work on designing technical solutions to abstract problems Ensure test plans for the code you create exist and that documentation is correct Work on open source projects like podman and other container related technologies Leverage AI and Agentic Workflows where it sees fit What you will bring: You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028 Working knowledge of written and spoken English Basic experience with any programming language Working knowledge of Linux Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a geographically distributed team Interest in learning new technologies; problem-solving skills. The following are considered a plus: Experience with Golang, Rust and/or python is a plus Knowledge of Jira and GitHub workflows a plus Familiarity with Linux containers, Docker, or Kubernetes a plus Familiarity with Networking is a plus Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) is a plus Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate.
