Job description

As an NPI Molding Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and optimizing injection molding processes to ensure product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and operational excellence. You will provide technical leadership for new product introductions, process improvements, troubleshooting activities, and implementation of scientific molding methodologies across manufacturing operations. Our Team You will be part of the NPI organization, partnering with manufacturing, tooling, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to successfully launch new products and improve molding processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring process stability, production readiness, and continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle. What You Will Do Develop, validate, and optimize injection molding processes to support product launches and manufacturing excellence. Lead mold qualification activities and establish robust molding process parameters. Support new product introduction (NPI) initiatives from development through production implementation. Provide technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for molding process issues. Collaborate with suppliers to support tooling, process development, and production readiness activities. Support process transfers between facilities and ensure successful implementation of manufacturing standards. Evaluate and implement molding technologies, process improvements, and best practices. Develop and maintain process documentation to ensure compliance with quality and manufacturing requirements. Apply scientific molding techniques and data-driven decision making to improve product quality and process performance. Support training activities and provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Tooling Engineering, or a related technical field. Five or more years of experience in injection molding process engineering. Experience developing, validating, and optimizing injection molding processes. Experience with scientific molding methodologies. Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), PFMEA, MSA, and Root Cause Analysis. Experience with injection molding machine setup and process optimization. Knowledge of polymer processing and material behavior. Ability to interpret Moldflow analysis results. Ability to read and interpret GD&T and engineering drawings. Experience performing statistical analysis and process capability studies. Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to travel up to 25% in support of process transfers, supplier support, and training activities. What Will Put You Ahead Ten or more years of experience in injection molding process engineering. Specialized training in Injection Molding, Scientific Molding, or Polymer Engineering. RJG Master Molder I or Master Molder II certification. Experience with cavity pressure monitoring systems such as Kistler and RJG. Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives. Advanced expertise supporting global NPI and manufacturing operations. Experience collaborating directly with tooling suppliers and external manufacturing partners.
