Position Summary The Import & Materials Specialist is responsible for managing sample shipments, coordinating customs clearance activities, maintaining import documentation, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and samples to support business operations. Key Responsibilities Import & Customs Management Coordinate importation of engineering, testing, and marketing samples from overseas suppliers and affiliates. Prepare and review import documentation, including invoices, packing lists, import declarations, and customs-related documents. Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics providers, and government authorities to ensure smooth customs clearance. Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders. Ensure compliance with Taiwan import regulations and company policies. Sample Shipment Coordination Manage inbound and outbound sample shipments. Coordinate urgent shipments and expedite customs clearance when required. Track sample inventory and maintain accurate records. Support shipment arrangements for R&D, Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and Business teams. Administration & Compliance Maintain import/export documentation for audit purposes. Monitor duty, tax, and customs-related expenses. Ensure proper filing and retention of shipping documents. Support applications and renewals of import permits when necessary. Reporting & Process Improvement Prepare monthly shipment and customs clearance reports. Analyze import trends and identify opportunities to improve lead times and operational efficiency. Participate in process improvement initiatives related to import operations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or related field. 2-5 years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, customs, or administration. Familiarity with Taiwan Customs regulations and import procedures. Experience working with freight forwarders (DHL, FedEx, UPS, Expeditors, Kerry Logistics, etc.). Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Good communication skills in both English and Chinese. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. AMD-like Environment Experience Preferred Experience handling semiconductor, electronic components, engineering samples, or RMA shipments. Knowledge of temporary imports, duty exemptions, and bonded warehouse operations. Experience coordinating shipments between overseas headquarters, contract manufacturers, and local teams. Ability to support urgent engineering sample imports with tight timelines. Example Posting Summary We are seeking an Import & Materials Specialist to support our Taiwan Administrative team.
