An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. About the role This role supports purchasing, sourcing, and supplier management activities across the business, helping to deliver effective procurement outcomes, cost optimisation, supplier performance, and risk management. Working with stakeholders and suppliers, the role manages day-to-day purchasing activity, supports governance compliance, identifies improvement opportunities, and contributes to the successful delivery of business objectives while operating within customer processes, systems, and security requirements. This job role can be based in Ipswich, Cheltenham or London. Hybrid (3 days office based & 2 days remote) Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance. What you’ll be doing Supporting stakeholders with purchasing and procurement activities, ensuring goods and services are sourced and delivered in line with business requirements. Assisting with sourcing events, supplier negotiations, contract renewals, and day-to-day purchasing activities. Building effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, helping to resolve queries, manage issues, and deliver positive outcomes. Supporting the management of supplier performance, procurement risks, and compliance requirements, escalating issues where appropriate. Monitoring spend, supporting cost-control initiatives, and identifying opportunities to improve value, efficiency, and supplier performance. Essential Skills / Experience Negotiation Commercial strategy Decision making Problem solving Growth mindset Desirable Skills / Experience Required Skills (Essential) Some experience or foundational knowledge in procurement, purchasing operations, supplier management, or a related field. Basic commercial awareness and an understanding of procurement principles, sourcing processes, supplier agreements, and purchasing governance. Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers, internal customers, and colleagues. Required Skills (Desirable) Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, with the ability to prepare reports, analyse purchasing data, maintain procurement records, and support sourcing and supplier management activities. Exposure to purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, procurement operations, or supply chain activities within a business environment. Basic understanding of procurement risk management, governance, compliance requirements, and purchasing controls, with the ability to identify and escalate risks.
