Your Job Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC is seeking a Vibration Technician to support the safety, reliability, and availability of rotating equipment at our Brandon, Manitoba nitrogen complex. In this field-focused role, you will collect and analyze condition-monitoring data, identify developing equipment issues, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Engineering to improve asset performance. Our Team You will support equipment that includes compressors, steam turbines, pumps, blowers, gearboxes, and associated auxiliary systems across the ammonia, nitric acid, urea, urea ammonium nitrate (UAN), and ammonium nitrate solution (ANS) production units. In accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, successful applicants will be hired into this position at ‘M2’ rate (currently $51.04/per hour). This position is a Monday – Friday position. What You Will Do •Collect and analyze portable and wireless vibration sensors to identify developing equipment conditions and reliability risks •Complete scheduled preventive-maintenance vibration routes and document findings in the computerized maintenance management system •Review condition-monitoring data, initiate service requests, and communicate recommended corrective actions to Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability stakeholders •Assist in equipment failure analysis and help implement recommendations that improve rotating-equipment safety, reliability, and availability •Assist with troubleshooting rotating-equipment conditions in collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and external service providers •Be responsible for maintaining handheld condition-monitoring instruments and associated hardware, including calibration records, inventory, and equipment condition •Support the site Mechanical Integrity Program by helping ensure applicable equipment is included in the condition-monitoring program and analyzed as required Who You Are - Basic Qualifications •Interprovincial Red Seal Millwright or Machinist certification, or a diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related discipline •Minimum of 3 years of directly related practical experience in an industrial environment •Vibration Analyst Level I certification •Working knowledge of pumps, fans, gear reducers, turbines, and compressors •Ability to meet the position schedule, physical, personal protective equipment, and site-access requirements What Will Put You Ahead •ISO Category II Vibration Analyst certification or equivalent •Hands-on condition-monitoring and vibration-analysis experience •Experience using Emerson CSI 2140 handheld vibration-analysis equipment •Experience with Maximo or another computerized maintenance management system •Experience using condition-monitoring or asset-health platforms •Experience working at a petrochemical, fertilizer, mining, or similar process-manufacturing facility •Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Work Conditions and Physical Requirements • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in an industrial manufacturing environment •Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds •Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights •Ability to satisfy applicable respiratory-protection requirements and wear required personal protective equipment •Ability to work in areas with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or toxic or caustic chemicals while using appropriate protective equipment •Ability to move safely around plant equipment and industrial work areas •Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and perform work in the positions necessary for the role •Ability to use computers, handheld monitoring instruments, and associated peripherals •Ability to work shifts, respond to emergency callouts, and adjust hours based on operational requirements •Ability to travel to and enter the site to access equipment Who We Are As a Koch Ag & Energy Solutions company, Koch Fertilizer delivers a full line of fertilizers designed to boost crop performance and help growers reach their yields.
