Job description

Are you a motivated, customer-focused Sales Engineer with the technical expertise and commercial mindset to influence customer designs and drive sustainable business growth? As a Sales Engineer in Romania and Serbia, you will develop and manage assigned customer accounts while identifying new opportunities among existing and prospective customers. Working closely with customers’ engineering, design, procurement, and commercial teams, you will understand application requirements, recommend suitable Molex solutions, and secure design-in opportunities. You will combine technical expertise, consultative selling, and relationship-building skills to convert design wins into long-term, profitable revenue growth. The role will support customers across strategic markets, focusing on Automotive and Transportation. Join us and help expand Molex’s presence and customer value creation across Romania and Serbia. Our Team You will join a collaborative and internationally connected Molex sales organization. The team works closely with customers, distribution partners, and internal product divisions to develop new opportunities and deliver differentiated technical solutions. What You Will Do • Manage and grow assigned customer accounts: Take ownership of customer relationships, account development, pipeline growth, and revenue performance within the assigned territory and account portfolio. • Develop strategic customer relationships: Build trusted relationships with engineering, procurement, design, and commercial stakeholders within customer and partner organizations. • Create new business opportunities: Identify, qualify, and develop opportunities within existing and prospective accounts, with a strong focus on new applications, customer penetration, and market share growth. • Drive technical design-in activity: Understand customer applications and technical requirements, propose appropriate Molex solutions, and coordinate the technical support required to secure design wins. • Convert design wins into revenue: Manage opportunities throughout the complete sales cycle, working with customers and internal teams to support timely conversion from specification and design approval to production revenue. • Develop and execute account plans: Create actionable customer and territory plans covering strategic priorities, opportunity pipelines, stakeholder relationships, competitive positioning, and growth objectives. • Engage distribution partners: Collaborate with authorized distribution partners to develop target customers, identify new opportunities, and expand market coverage. • Deliver value-based solutions: Apply a consultative sales approach to connect Molex’s technical capabilities with customers’ business, technical, application, and operational objectives. • Coordinate cross-functional resources: Work closely with product management, engineering, marketing, customer service, operations, and other commercial teams to deliver effective customer solutions. • Provide market intelligence: Monitor customer strategies, industry developments, emerging applications, and competitor activity to inform business priorities and growth plans. • Maintain sales discipline: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, opportunity, and forecast information in the company’s CRM and other relevant business systems. • Represent Molex in the market: Participate in customer visits, distributor activities, technical seminars, exhibitions, and other relevant industry events. What Will Put You Ahead • Experience selling connectors, interconnect solutions, electronic components, or other engineered products. • Established relationships or market knowledge within Automotive or related sectors in Romania. • Demonstrated success in technical demand creation, customer penetration, and design-in conversion. • Experience working with distributors or channel partners. • Knowledge of electronic and electromechanical applications, including connectors, cable assemblies, sensors, antennas, or related technologies. • Experience using Salesforce, SAP, or comparable CRM and ERP systems. • Ability to engage confidently with both local customer organizations and international technical and commercial teams.
