As part of this investment, we’re hiring a Senior Manager, AI & Data Science to help turn cutting-edge AI research, strategy, and innovation into real-world impact. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of engineers and data scientists to research, architect, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems that directly drive business and client outcomes. This is a hands-on R&D leadership role where you will own end-to-end delivery, from early-stage research and technical exploration through architecture, development, and production deployment. You’ll translate strategy into execution, set team direction through OKRs and milestones, and ensure solutions are designed to meet high standards for performance, scalability, security, and reliability. You will play a critical role in shaping the technical and architectural direction of AI solutions, partnering with senior technical leaders to evaluate emerging technologies, make key architecture decisions, and ensure AI innovation translates into scalable, enterprise-ready capabilities and tangible business value. You’re great at: Owning: R&D execution, delivery, team performance, and overall operational health. Leading, scaling and coaching a high-performing team of 20–30 R&D engineers and data scientists through the full R&D lifecycle, from research, experimentation and prototyping, to architecture, engineering, deployment, and production; building strong talent pipelines while fostering technical leadership, innovation, and career development. Translating complex needs, technologies and concepts into well-defined projects; strategic roadmaps into clear quarterly plans, OKRs, and measurable delivery milestones. Supporting a rchitecture and system design decisions for complex, enterprise-scale AI solutions. Assessing & delivering Value to ensure R&D initiatives and product features are directly tied to customer value and measurable business outcomes. Evaluating emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches and determining how they can be applied to solve real customer and business problems. Partnering with architects and technical leads to define scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable AI architectures. Assuring production AI systems consistently meet reliability, performance, and quality SLAs; monitoring and optimizing delivery using KPIs, engineering metrics, and data-driven insights. Driving cross-functional alignment with Product, Security, Architecture, Platform, and Engineering teams; operational excellence through reliability, scalability, security, and engineering best practices. What you need to succeed: Education: Preferably Master’s degree (strong Bachelor’s considered) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering. Work Experience: Minimum 8- 12 years of experience in software engineering, AI, data science, or research and development , with progressive technical and leadership responsibility. R&D Experience: Strong R&D experience , with a track record of taking new technologies or concepts from research, experimentation, and prototyping, through to scalable production solutions; proven experience working within or leading software/AI R&D organizations , ideally developing new products, platforms, or enterprise technology capabilities. Leadership Experience: Proven success leading and developing mid-sized, multidisciplinary engineering and data science teams; Experience building, scaling, and developing global high-performing engineering teams. Software Engineering: Strong software and/or AI architecture experience , with the ability to contribute to and guide architecture, system design, technology selection, and technical trade-off decisions. Software Architecture: Experience designing or overseeing large-scale, distributed, cloud-native architectures , ideally supporting AI, machine learning, data, or enterprise software platforms. Software Development Programs: Experience managing large-scale software and AI delivery programs from concept and architecture through to production. Agile Delivery: Experience operating in Agile environments at scale, ideally across globally distributed R&D teams. Operations: Strong experience operating production systems with a focus on availability, reliability, security, performance, and scalability. AI Technologies: Strong understanding of AI agents, modern AI architectures, and end-to-end AI solution delivery . AI Governance: Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, security, privacy, and compliance considerations. Cloud: Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, and AI deployment platforms . Execution: Experience driving cross-functional execution across Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations. Organization: Experience establishing team objectives, performance expectations, and career development frameworks; experience managing competing priorities, technical dependencies, and resources in a fast-paced R&D environment. Mindset: Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to technical and business decision-making. Balance: Ability to balance innovation and experimentation with architectural rigor and production readiness . Interpersonal: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at multiple levels.
