We Are: Accenture’s Supply Chain & Operations practice, and we live in the details that make distribution centers run. Our clients—Fortune 500 leaders across retail, e-commerce, grocery, consumer goods, third-party logistics, and industrial manufacturing—count on us to design, configure, and stand up the systems and processes that power their warehouses. From WMS solution design and configuration through go-live and stabilization, our Warehousing & Distribution Engineering team combines deep functional expertise, hands-on operations knowledge, and Accenture’s global delivery capability to solve the problems that other firms treat as out of scope. If it touches how goods move inside four walls, we own it. You Are: A hands-on WMS functional expert and distribution center operations specialist who has spent your career in the details—configuration workbooks, fit-gap analyses, process flow diagrams, UAT scripts, and go-live war rooms. You bring deep, practical expertise in Manhattan Active® WM (or a comparable enterprise WMS platform) and you know the operations side just as well: receiving and putaway, wave planning and pick/pack/ship, labor management, slotting, cycle counting, and returns. You can walk a client’s operations floor, immediately identify what is broken or sub-optimal, and translate that observation into a WMS configuration or process change that actually fixes it. You are an effective facilitator who earns the trust of warehouse managers and IT leaders alike, and you thrive guiding client super users through design decisions that will shape how thousands of associates work every day. You are ready to be on-site where the work happens—and traveling 60 to 80 percent of the time suits you fine. The Work: Lead the WMS functional workstream on large distribution center implementation programs, owning requirements gathering, process design, configuration, testing, and go-live for Manhattan Active® WM and comparable enterprise WMS platforms. Conduct structured current-state assessments of distribution center operations across all functional domains—inbound (receiving, cross-dock, putaway), outbound (wave planning, pick/pack/ship, loading), inventory management (replenishment, cycle counting, location management), labor management, returns processing, and yard management—identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and WMS configuration opportunities. Facilitate solution design workshops with client operations, industrial engineering, and IT stakeholders; translate operational requirements into documented functional specifications, configuration decisions, and process design documents aligned with the WMS platform's capabilities and best practices. Own and maintain configuration workbooks, functional specifications, fit-gap analyses, process flow documentation, and requirements traceability matrices across the full implementation lifecycle, ensuring changes are version-controlled and communicated across project workstreams. Design and execute end-to-end WMS testing strategies—unit testing, systems integration testing (SIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT)—including test script development, defect logging and triage, regression testing, and go-live readiness certification in partnership with the client, SI, and automation vendors. Lead WMS cutover planning and execution for go-live events, including parallel processing support, cutover checklists and rehearsals, hyper-care protocols, issue escalation, and post-launch stabilization in live distribution environments. Design and deliver role-based end-user training programs for warehouse associates, team leads, supervisors, and system administrators across all WMS functional modules; develop training documentation, quick-reference guides, and on-floor job aids. Support configuration and optimization of labor management systems (LMS), engineered labor standards, slotting programs, wave optimization rules, and warehouse performance dashboards that integrate with or operate adjacent to the WMS. Apply distribution center operations expertise—flow path analysis, slotting strategy, SKU velocity profiling, labor model design, and staffing ramp planning—in support of new DC launches, facility expansions, and operational transformation programs. Mentor WMS analysts and junior functional consultants on the engagement team, transferring WMS configuration expertise, DC operations knowledge, and client-facing delivery skills. Contribute to Accenture’s WMS accelerator library, configuration templates, and methodology assets; support proposal development and solution presentations as a subject matter expert in WMS functional delivery and DC operations. Travel Requirements: This role requires 60–80% travel, primarily to client distribution center and project sites across the United States and potentially internationally. Travel is aligned with active project needs and current health and safety guidelines. Here's what you need: Minimum of 5 years of experience in distribution center operations, WMS implementation, or supply chain technology delivery, including at least 4 years in a hands-on WMS functional lead or configuration role on enterprise WMS platforms. Minimum 3 years hands-on WMS functional expertise—Manhattan Active® WM strongly preferred—including direct experience configuring and validating modules across inbound, outbound, inventory management, wave planning, labor management, and integration to ERP and WCS/WES layers, combined with solid working knowledge of distribution center operations across receiving, putaway, replenishment, pick/pack/ship, cycle counting, returns processing, yard management, and labor management. Experience leading or directly supporting WMS fit-gap analysis, solution design sessions, requirements documentation, unit, integration, and UAT testing, test script authoring, defect management, triage, go-live readiness assessment, cutover, hyper-care, and post-go-live stabilization in live distribution environments. Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience. (If associate degree, must have a minimum of 6 years’ work experience) · Bonus Points If: You hold Manhattan Active® WM certification or formal platform training credentials from Manhattan Associates. Strong communication and facilitation skills; proven ability to run structured design workshops with diverse client stakeholder groups (operations, IT, finance, HR) and translate outputs into clear, actionable documentation. You have direct experience with labor management systems (LMS), engineered labor standards development, or time-and-motion studies in a distribution or fulfillment environment. You have hands-on experience with slotting optimization tools (e.g., Manhattan Slotting, Blue Yonder Slotting, OPEX or similar) and understand the interplay between slotting, wave strategy, and pick path optimization. You have hands-on experience with Blue Yonder Luminate Warehouse Management, SAP EWM, Oracle WMS C
