Your Job As a Tooling Design Engineer within the Global Operation Capability team, you will support connector manufacturing through the design and development of stamping dies, injection molds, and related tooling solutions. You will partner with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to develop, validate, launch, and continuously improve tooling that meets quality, productivity, reliability, and cost objectives. Our Team The GOC Manufacturing Engineering team is based in Japan and works in alignment with Global Operations. The team supports urgent, business-critical manufacturing initiatives at Molex sites worldwide, leveraging Japan’s ecosystem of high-quality equipment and component manufacturers and Molex Japan’s strengths in precision manufacturing and high-speed assembly. What You Will Do Design stamping dies, injection molds, and related tooling using CAD software, and create engineering drawings and technical documentation. Support tooling fabrication, validation, qualification, and production launch activities in close partnership with manufacturing teams. Identify and resolve tooling-related technical issues to improve product quality and manufacturing productivity. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance tooling performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Coordinate tooling validation and process qualification activities with internal teams and external suppliers to meet quality and engineering standards. Collaborate across functions to deliver tooling solutions that meet customer requirements and business objectives. Contribute to the global deployment of tooling innovations and manufacturing best practices. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience designing stamping dies, injection molds, or both using CAD tools. Knowledge of tooling fabrication and machining processes, together with production support experience for stamping or molding operations. At least 5 years of direct experience in tooling design or related areas, with at least 10 years of overall experience including related manufacturing functions. Strong understanding of precision manufacturing technologies and quality requirements. Native-level or upper business-level Japanese proficiency. Business-level English proficiency. What Will Put You Ahead Experience in connector or electronic-component manufacturing using stamping dies or injection molds. A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related engineering discipline. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to collaborate effectively across functions in a fast-paced environment. Upper business-level English proficiency.
