Job description

Molex is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Director to lead quality strategy and execution for our Optoelectronics Products organization within the Datacom and Specialty Solutions division. This highly visible global role will strengthen customer-focused quality, preventive action, regulatory compliance, product reliability, and continuous improvement across a complex global design and high-volume manufacturing network. The successful candidate will partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, commercial teams, customers, and manufacturing locations to build a culture of quality ownership and consistently improve the customer experience. This role supports Molex operations in Guadalajara and Zhuhai, the Fremont, California Design Center, and contract manufacturing activities across Asia. This role is not open to Visa sponsorship. Our Team The Quality and Continuous Improvement team supports global Optoelectronics design and manufacturing operations. The team works across functions and regions to improve quality systems, reduce defects and repeat issues, strengthen new product quality planning, and resolve customer concerns with speed and rigor. What You Will Do Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of an integrated quality strategy aligned with corporate requirements, customer expectations, and the goal of zero defects. Partner with regional plant and design center leadership to establish preventive quality practices, strengthen failure avoidance, and improve product and process performance. Develop an integrated customer-response framework with customer-facing technical program management and applications teams and represent the organization in customer quality matters and visits. Lead and maintain quality management systems that meet applicable standards, regulatory requirements, and Molex corporate expectations, including support for ISO 9001 compliance and Molex Quality System audits. Sponsor Lean Six Sigma initiatives and apply Advanced Quality Planning, Statistical Process Control, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Quality Function Deployment, Team Oriented Problem Solving, Gage R&R, and process capability methods to improve quality performance. Build strong relationships with customer engineering leaders and teams across Molex; influence engineering, operations, and supply chain partners to strengthen customer-driven quality ownership. Ensure manufacturing quality infrastructure, including cleanrooms and white rooms, is maintained to applicable industry and customer standards. Advise divisional quality and senior business leadership on quality policy, risk, performance, customer concerns, and improvement priorities. Support design and development teams with quality planning for new programs , including project risk identification, reliability, qualification, and launch readiness. Develop organizational capability through talent assessment, succession and development planning, and continued advancement of optical technology and quality assurance expertise . Establish operating rhythms and corrective and preventive action reviews that deliver timely containment, root-cause resolution, and sustained corrective action. Use quality data and emerging analytical methods, including machine-learning applications where appropriate , to identify patterns and reduce customer escapes. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, applied science, or related technical field. Progressive quality leadership experience in a complex product design and high-volume manufacturing environment involving optical, photonic, electronic, or closely related. Experience leading quality management systems, regulatory compliance, customer quality, supplier quality, product reliability, and manufacturing quality across multiple locations. K nowledge of ISO 9001 and advanced quality tools, including FMEA, SPC, Gage R&R, process capability, corrective action, and structured problem solving. Experience influencing senior leaders and cross-functional, cross-regional teams without relying solely on direct authority. Experience communicating directly with customers and leading the resolution of significant customer quality concerns. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% to support customers, design centers, manufacturing sites, and contract manufacturers. What Will Put You Ahead Advanced degree in engineering, quality, operations, or business. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer, or comparable certification. Leadership experience in optoelectronics, photonics, fiber-optic components, semiconductor , or high-speed data communications products. Experience with cleanroom and white-room manufacturing controls. Experience applying analytics or machine-learning models to predict quality risk, improve detection, or reduce escape rates. Experience leading quality performance across internal manufacturing and external contract manufacturing networks. For this role, we anticipate paying $200,000 - $275,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
