Role Description An exciting opportunity to join a tight knit team providing Spacecraft Operations support to BAE’s existing and future in – orbit assets. The position offers a chance to take a critical role in the full life of a satellite mission, from on the ground testing, LEOP, commissioning, nominal operations, servicing customer requests, to end-of-life support. The role requires hands – on involvement in spacecraft operations, with on-orbit assets, deep problem solving skills and working in a fast-paced environment. The role is varied and challenging, combining responsibilities across system engineering, spacecraft operations, mission management and planning. Essential Requirements Strong understanding of satellite subsystems (AOCS/GNC or OBDH advantageous); Experience of ground systems; Knowledge of orbital mechanics and flight dynamics, with experience in formation flying and /or close proximity satellite operations; Demonstrated solid systems engineering knowledge (ideally applied to systems involved in space missions); Knowledge of Linux operating systems; Hands-on/practical experience with mission control systems, operations tools and simulators; Flexible and must be able to work out of hours supporting the on-call rota; Experience with Python, GIT and Rest API; Experience with Service Management tooling (desirable).
