Product Specialist for Skywise (Core MRO)
Airbus · Bangkok Area
Job description
Job Description: SKYWISE provides comprehensive, integrated solutions that drive operational efficiency, enhance safety, and support business growth for airlines and the wider aerospace industry worldwide. Our innovative portfolio spans Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) solutions, flight operations, crew planning, digital maintenance, tech ops, ground ops, maintenance capability, and predictive insights designed to navigate the complexities of modern air travel. With a commitment to fostering digital transformation, we leverage cutting-edge technologies to empower our customers to achieve optimal performance and maintain their competitive edge in a rapidly evolving market. The Product Portfolio team plays a critical role in the definition of the products to ensure the match with the market, using feedback collected from the Customer Experience teams and working closely with the Software Factory to deliver the right product at the right time. The Product Portfolio team is splitted over transversal functions and per portfolios teams, and over those ones the Skywise Core Suite is managing the Skywise Core product line, like Skywise Core for Airlines or Skywise Core for MRO. The Product Specialists (PS) are the experts of a product or of a technology that is key in the value chain of the portfolio, working closely with the Portfolio Manager and the Principal Product Managers. Within the Skywise Core Suite, the product portfolio is divided across specialized domains, including Skywise Core for Airlines and the dedicated Skywise Core product line. The Product Specialist – Skywise Core acts as the domain expert and functional product owner dedicated to the Skywise Core ecosystem. Designed to eliminate data silos, centralize maintenance data, and enable data-driven decision-making, Skywise Core serves independent, affiliated, and integrated MROs, as well as airline maintenance divisions via the MRO Option for Core. The Specialist serves as the primary "translator" between complex MRO operational requirements (such as turnaround optimization, labor forecasting, material readiness, digital twins, and external client visibility) and the underlying platform technology (Skywise Ontology, low-code/no-code application development, analytics, and AI assistance tools). Mission & Responsibilities Discovery & Exploration Connected with Customer Experience (CX) Translate MRO Pain Points: Work directly with Customer Experience (CX) teams and MRO clients (independent MROs and embedded airline MROs) to translate qualitative operational bottlenecks into clear technical product requirements. Feasibility & Data Lake Scoping: Assess whether customer requirements and customized maintenance workflows can be supported by the current Skywise data lake, the MRO Data Ontology framework, and platform architecture. Customer Demos & Workshops: Lead live, technical product demonstrations and interactive discovery workshops with MRO leadership, Fleet Reliability Managers, and Maintenance Executives to prove the value proposition of Skywise Core. Compliance & Governance: Ensure all proposed digital tools and data workflows adhere to strict data privacy, security standards, and aviation regulatory requirements (EASA/FAA) Strategy & Roadmap Definition Integrated with Principal Product Managers & Portfolio Managers Prioritize MRO Features: Rank product enhancements, add-ons (e.g., Skywise Boost, Collaboration Projects), and MRO applications based on operational impact vs. data and platform readiness. Dataset & Ontology Strategy: Define requirements for ingesting and structuring fragmented MRO data sources (maintenance logs, work packages, task state overviews, telematics, and parts interchangeability) into the Skywise Ontology. Commercial Feature Packaging: Partner with Product Managers to package, bundle, and position MRO offers KPI Definition: Define and track North Star metrics, translating platform engagement and tool usage into tangible MRO business outcomes (e.g., reduced grounding time, improved turnaround time, optimized labor utilization). Development & RefinementConnected with the Software Factory teams Own Epics & Dossiers: Build, refine, and own Epic Dossiers for MRO features and standard applications (e.g., Man-Hours Forecasting, Unscheduled Findings, Resource Visibility, Configuration Sharing) to clear governance process gates and guide Software Factory development. Domain Validation: Validate algorithm outputs, predictive models, and simulation digital twins to ensure physical consistency with real-world hangar, component, and aircraft maintenance constraints. Exploratory & Low-Code Environment Adoption: Leverage and configure point-and-click analytical tools (Contour, Object Explorer) and low-code/no-code application frameworks (Workshop) to design intuitive workflows tailored to aircraft engineers and maintenance planners. Feedback Loops & User Co-Creation: Establish closed-loop feedback processes with field users (hangar technicians, shop planners) to continuously refine platform usability and solution accuracy. Delivery & ScalingConnected with the Hosting & Software Factory Teams Onboarding & Deployment Oversight: Support customer onboarding programs (including initial workflow/app deployments and revisits) to ensure successful application adoption and system integration. Interoperability & Data Export: Ensure robust integration with legacy MRO systems and external IT software via BI Connectors, Webhooks, and RESTful APIs. Ecosystem Collaboration Spaces: Promote and govern secure "Collaboration Projects / Spaces" to enable seamless, joint workflows between MROs and partner airlines. External Influence & Industry AdvocacyConnected with Marketing, Communications, and Industry Bodies Voice of Skywise [MRO]: Represent the Skywise Core [MRO] product line at key industry symposiums, MRO conferences, and aviation summits. Thought Leadership: Publish points of view, whitepapers, and technical articles demystifying data-driven maintenance, operational digital twins, and predictive MRO strategy Secondary ResponsibilitiesMRO Digital Literacy & Internal Coaching: Act as a functional coach for internal product managers and commercial teams. Lead workshops to demystify MRO platform capabilities and data ontology, enabling teams to independently identify customer expansion opportunities. Benchmarking & Market Intelligence: Conduct competitive scans of the MRO digital software landscape, monitoring third-party solution providers to inform "Build vs. Buy vs. Partner" decisions for the product line. Cross-Program Data Synergy: Identify data silos across the wider aviation ecosystem (such as linking assembly line production quality data with in-service MRO maintenance logs) to unlock compound value for customers. Personal & Interpersonal SkillsMultitasking & Strategic Prioritization: Ability to manage long-term strategic roadmap goals alongside immediate, technical Epic definitions for development sprints. Cross-Functional Glue: Exceptional collaboration skills, acting as the primary link between software engineers, data architects, UX designers, and hangar maintenance personnel. Pragmatic Problem Solver: Comfortable navigating complex aviation datasets, legacy MRO software structures, and regulatory constraints, turning constraints into intuitive platform solutions. Accountability & Ownership: End-to-end pride and accountability for product health, deployment quality, and user satisfaction. Global & Cultural Adaptation: Experience working seamlessly with international, cross-functional, and remote teams (e.g., Toulouse, Singapore, global customer bases).
