Job Description Application Consultants understand the client business process, current and future, and map it to the technologies being used, giving a demarcation of what can be achieved through a standard implementation and what would need customizations or extensions to be done to the application. They may functionally customize the application, partner with application developers to design application enhancements and extensions, and work with business users to implement process changes. Job Description - Grade Specific SAP P2P Consultant The SAP P2P Consultant is responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing Procure-to-Pay business processes within SAP environments. This role requires strong functional expertise in procurement, purchasing, supplier management, inventory management, invoice processing, and payment workflows, as well as the ability to translate business requirements into effective SAP solutions. The consultant partners with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to analyze current processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend best-practice SAP solutions. The individual should possess deep knowledge of SAP P2P processes and related integrations with modules such as MM, FI/AP, SD, WM/EWM, and Ariba (where applicable). Key Responsibilities: Lead requirements gathering workshops and facilitate discussions with business stakeholders. Analyze existing procurement and accounts payable processes and recommend improvements. Configure and implement SAP P2P solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practices. Support end-to-end project activities including design, build, testing, training, deployment, and hypercare support. Prepare functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams on developments and integrations. Conduct system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and defect resolution. Provide subject matter expertise on procurement, sourcing, purchasing, invoice verification, and supplier management processes. Advise clients on SAP functionality, process optimization, and transformation initiatives including S/4HANA migrations. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, controls, and procurement governance standards. Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and stay current with SAP innovations and industry trends. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong experience with SAP Materials Management (MM) and Procure-to-Pay processes. Experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, rollouts, or support engagements. In-depth understanding of purchasing, inventory management, invoice management, vendor master data, and integration with Finance. Strong consulting, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation skills. Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and provide strategic recommendations. Experience supporting testing cycles, training activities, and change management efforts. SAP certifications in MM, S/4HANA Sourcing & Procurement, or related areas are highly preferred.
