R&D Technician – Testing & Prototyping (f/m/d) (fixed-term)

Job description

Responsibilities: Plan, execute, and document technical performance and quality tests for products, production samples, components, and prototypes Design Build, and refine prototypes in early development phases using a range of methods, including sewing or 3D printing Optimize, and validate test methods, and contribute to the implementation of new testing approaches for innovative products Perform benchmarking and comparative product evaluations to support product development and product quality for all product categories Support the creation of compelling product demonstrations for internal and external stakeholders Contribute to R&D processes and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) activities within the R&D center Ensure lab equipment is fully operational, well-maintained, and up to date; provide training and guidance to users Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and support temporary team members such as trainees, interns, and external partners Qualifications: Technical education in natural sciences (e.g., lab technician, physics/chemical assistant) First experience in lab testing or application engineering preferred Team player with interest in international collaboration Motivated, curious, and hands-on mindset Ability to maintain a high level of quality in dynamic and fast-paced environments 3D CAD skills (ideally SolidWorks) Good English and MS Office skills; basic knowledge of generative AI is a plus ‎ ‎ The Freudenberg Group is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion.
