As a STATCOM Bid Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the successful development and execution of techno-commercial bids for Siemens Energy's STATCOM and FACTS solutions across global markets. You will be responsible for managing the complete tendering lifecycle for complex EPC projects, ensuring competitive, high-quality, and customer-centric proposals that align with Siemens Energy's business objectives and profitability targets. In this role, you will work closely with regional units, global competency hubs, engineering, procurement, planning, EHS, quality, legal, and commercial teams to deliver winning proposals and support business growth. You will act as a key interface between customers, internal stakeholders, and global teams, ensuring effective coordination, risk management, and commercial competitiveness throughout the bid process. We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in FACTS, HVDC, and power transmission systems who can combine technical expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills to strengthen Siemens Energy's position in the global energy transition. How You'll Make an Impact • Drive the successful execution of the tendering and offer management process for global STATCOM EPC projects while ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and business objectives. • Deliver technical presentations and pre-sales support activities for STATCOM and related grid stabilization technologies to customers, consultants, and key stakeholders. • Monitor market developments, customer requirements, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify business opportunities and strengthen Siemens Energy's competitive positioning. • Collaborate with Siemens Energy Regional Units and global headquarters teams to assess business opportunities, define scope responsibilities, and support pipeline development activities. • Coordinate internally and externally with Siemens Energy competency hubs, factories, engineering teams, and business stakeholders in India and across global regions to prepare optimized proposals. • Review customer RFQs, tender documents, and technical specifications while identifying key project requirements, resource needs, and execution strategies. • Lead techno-commercial clarification meetings, negotiations, and proposal discussions with customers, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and business objectives. • Develop competitive bid strategies through detailed cost analysis, target pricing, benchmarking, and evaluation of local market requirements and competitive landscapes. • Identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities within bid management processes and implement best practices to improve tender quality and efficiency. • Conduct commercial, contractual, technical, quality, safety, and country-specific risk assessments while developing mitigation strategies to support profitable project acquisition. • Manage and coordinate the preparation of technical, commercial, contractual, and legal documentation required for tender submissions and bid approvals. • Interface closely with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, EHS, Quality, Commercial, and Legal teams to ensure comprehensive and compliant bid preparation. • Support the successful transition from bid phase to project execution through effective stakeholder communication, documentation management, and knowledge transfer. What You Bring • Bachelor's Degree or Postgraduate Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering. • Proven experience of 12-18 years in Tender Management, Sales, Project Execution, Business Development, or Bid Management roles within the power transmission and energy sector. • Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in FACTS, STATCOM, HVDC, or related grid automation and power transmission technologies. • Strong understanding of EPC project execution, power transmission systems, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy integration solutions. • Demonstrated experience in bid preparation, techno-commercial evaluations, customer negotiations, proposal management, and tender coordination activities. • Strong analytical and commercial capabilities with expertise in cost estimation, target pricing, benchmarking, profitability analysis, and commercial risk assessment. • Knowledge of contractual frameworks, taxation concepts, delegation processes, and commercial evaluation methodologies relevant to international EPC projects. • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and customer engagement skills with the ability to influence diverse teams across multiple geographies. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of MS Project, Power BI, and associated digital tools being an added advantage. • Proven experience working within multicultural and matrix organizations while collaborating effectively with regional and global stakeholders. • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for customer engagements, bid reviews, negotiations, and project-related activities. • Self-motivated and result-oriented professional with strong leadership, coaching, consulting, and problem-solving capabilities. • Calm, collaborative, and adaptable approach with the ability to deliver results under pressure within a dynamic and rapidly evolving business environment.
