Job Description SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and self-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Ultrasound Point of Care (POC) R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design, development, verification, and transition to manufacturing (NPI) of compact ultrasound systems, consoles, and system accessories. This position emphasizes complete end-to-end mechanical ownership—from initial conceptual design, detailed CAD modeling, and DFM to collaborating with external subcontractors, managing tooling approvals, and ensuring seamless integration on the manufacturing line. Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities Mechanical Design & Engineering: Drive the mechanical design and electronics packaging of compact ultrasound hardware, consoles, suspended masses, sheet metal structures, and custom system accessories from initial concept through mass production. Subcontractor & Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with external subcontractors, injection molding suppliers, tooling vendors, and design agencies (including overseas suppliers in China and globally) to ensure design feasibility and quality. DFM & Production Readiness: Oversee Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, tool design approvals, sample inspections, and root-cause analysis for plastic injection parts, metal forming, castings, and extrusions. Design Control & Documentation: Author and maintain technical documentation, including System/Mechanical Requirements Specifications (DRS), Verification Protocols (VPR, VRS), Engineering Change Requests/Orders (ECR/ECO), assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM). Compliance & Standards: Ensure mechanical design compliance with medical device standards, cleaning & disinfection guidelines (ISO 17664), system labeling, and environmental/regulatory requirements. Testing & Assembly Line Support: Design test fixtures, write verification plans, execute mechanical testing, and provide real-time engineering support to assembly floors and production lines. Required Technical Skills & Experience Experience: 8+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering design experience for multidisciplinary electro-mechanical systems or medical devices. Subcontractor Collaboration: Proven track record of working closely with external subcontractors, design partners, industrial designers, and overseas manufacturing plants. 3D CAD Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (including plastic enclosures, surfacing, sheet metal, and complex structural assemblies). Manufacturing Processes: Deep practical knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling approvals, sheet metal fabrication, machining, metal finishes/coatings, extrusions, and ultrasonic welding. Medical Compliance & Quality: Experience working in a regulated engineering environment under ISO 13485 design controls, ISO 17664 (cleaning & disinfection), and regulatory labeling requirements. PLM & ERP Tools: Proficiency with PLM/PDM systems (e.g., ENOVIA, SolidWorks PDM) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP). Soft Skills & Capabilities Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, methodical troubleshooting, and the ability to make independent technical decisions under pressure. Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and global suppliers. Adaptability: Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to dynamic project timelines. Education & Languages Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university. Languages: Professional working proficiency in English and Hebrew. Additional InformationThe job is open to men and women equally Relocation Assistance Provided: No
