We are looking for a Senior Underwriter Construction & Natural Resources, based in Copenhagen, Denmark or Stockholm, Sweden. Your Team You will join the Nordic underwriting team within Allianz Commercial's Regional Unit EMEA business. The team plays a key role in supporting Allianz Commercial's growth ambitions across the Nordic markets, delivering tailored insurance solutions to large corporate and specialty clients operating in increasingly complex risk environments. Working closely with colleagues across Underwriting, Distribution, Risk Consulting, Claims and Multinational teams, you will contribute to building and strengthening Allianz Commercial's position in the Construction & Natural Resources specialty segment. The role offers extensive exposure to regional and international stakeholders while working in a highly collaborative and client-focused environment. The Impact You Will Have Reporting into the Regional Unit EMEA leadership structure, the Senior Underwriter Construction & Natural Resources will be instrumental in establishing and expanding Allianz Commercial's presence in the Nordic Construction and Natural Resources markets. As the first Construction & Natural Resources Underwriter based in the Nordics, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape the local proposition, build the portfolio from the ground up and play a pivotal role in the ongoing Nordics Growth Journey. You will be responsible for developing profitable portfolios, building strong broker and client relationships, and supporting long-term growth objectives within strategically important specialty lines. This role offers significant visibility across the region and the opportunity to influence underwriting strategy, portfolio performance, and market development initiatives. Some of your specific responsibilities could include : You will underwrite and manage a portfolio of Construction and Natural Resources risks in line with Allianz Commercial underwriting guidelines, risk appetite and profitability objectives. You will evaluate complex construction projects and associated exposures, determining appropriate pricing, terms, conditions and coverage structures. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients and key market partners across the Nordic region. You will contribute to portfolio growth by identifying new business opportunities while maintaining disciplined underwriting standards. You will monitor portfolio performance, market trends and emerging risks, taking proactive actions to optimize results. You will collaborate with Risk Consulting, Claims, Multinational and Distribution teams to provide comprehensive solutions to clients. You will support strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening Allianz Commercial's position within the Construction specialty market. You will ensure compliance with internal governance standards, regulatory requirements and underwriting authorities. What You’ll Bring to the Role You have a university degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Risk Management, Insurance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. You have significant experience in Construction and/or Natural Resources underwriting, specialty underwriting or commercial insurance for large corporate clients. You have strong technical underwriting skills and experience assessing complex risks and negotiating coverage solutions. You have proven experience managing broker and client relationships within the Nordic insurance market. You have strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to balance growth and profitability objectives. You have excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills. You have the ability to work effectively in an international and matrix-based organization. You demonstrate a commercial mindset and a proactive approach to business development. You have experience applying artificial intelligence, data analysis or automation tools to support underwriting decisions and portfolio insights, while maintaining ethical and responsible business practices. Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial. Further Information : For Denmark, the base salary range for this position is between DKK 783,000 and DKK 1,043,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers : the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience. The annualized amount represents a market range and will also be determined by the location of the role. In the situation where you do not meet all the job requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, we offer an attractive performance-based variable component based on location specific regulations, and you may be eligible for additional benefits. For Sweden, the base salary range for this position is between SEK 952,000 and SEK 1,270,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers : the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role, the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialization, skills and experience. The annualized amount represents a market range and will also be determined by the location of the role. In the situation where you do not meet all the job requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range.
