The Associate Manager – Record to Report (R2R) is responsible for leading day-to-day R2R operations and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial close and reporting. The role oversees general ledger accounting, journal processing, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, financial reporting, and audit support. The incumbent will manage a team, deliver agreed service levels, strengthen controls, resolve escalations, and drive standardisation, automation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities in accordance with the close calendar and agreed timelines. Review and approve standard, recurring, accrual, provision, reclassification, allocation, and adjustment journal entries with complete supporting documentation. Ensure accurate general ledger accounting, period-end cut-off, trial balance review, and timely closure of open items. Oversee bank, balance sheet, clearing, suspense, payroll, fixed asset, and sub-ledger-to-general-ledger reconciliations. Monitor intercompany accounting, confirmations, settlements, mismatch resolution, and elimination support. Supervise fixed asset activities, including capitalisation, transfers, depreciation, impairment support, and disposals. Review financial statements, management reports, flux and variance analyses, and commentary before submission. Skill Requirements Strong accounting judgement, analytical ability, and attention to detail. Effective people leadership, coaching, delegation, and workload management. Clear written and verbal communication with confidence in stakeholder and client interactions. Structured problem solving, root-cause analysis, and risk-based decision-making. Ability to manage competing priorities and remain composed during demanding close cycles. Ownership mindset, integrity, customer orientation, and commitment to timely closure. Change agility and a strong orientation toward process improvement and automation Other Requirements Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred. Typically 7–10 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including substantial hands-on R2R experience and prior team-lead or supervisory responsibility. Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, accruals, and financial reporting. Working knowledge of applicable accounting frameworks such as IFRS, Ind AS, or US GAAP, together with internal control and audit requirements. Apply now Information at a Glance Why HCLTech?
