Job description

A Senior Power BI Developer with 5–8 years of experience is expected to own end-to-end BI solution delivery, including designing, developing, and optimizing dashboards, reports, and semantic models in enterprise environments. The role requires deep expertise in DAX, data modeling, SQL, and Azure-based ecosystems, along with strong knowledge of ETL, OLAP, and tools like SSRS, SSIS, and Databricks. The developer should be capable of translating complex business needs into scalable BI solutions, ensuring performance optimization, governance, and compliance. Additionally, the role demands strong visualization and UX skills, experience with CI/CD and deployment pipelines, and the ability to mentor team members while influencing technical direction. Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, AI-assisted analytics, and prompt engineering is considered an advantage. Key Responsibilities "Senior Power BI Developer – Requirements Must-Have Qualifications • 5–8 years of commercial experience as a Power BI Developer, preferably within a corporate or enterprise environment • Proven end-to-end ownership of designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing Power BI solutions, including complex dashboards, reports, and semantic models • Advanced proficiency in DAX, including complex calculations, performance optimization, and calculation groups • Deep expertise in semantic modeling, with ability to design and govern enterprise-grade datasets featuring well-structured relationships, hierarchies, row-level security, and reusable measure libraries • Demonstrated experience in advanced dimensional data modeling and enterprise data warehouse design, with ability to architect performant semantic layers over complex source systems • Advanced understanding of data visualization and dashboard UX principles, with the ability to influence standards and best practices across teams • Strong expertise in SQL, with hands-on experience using SSRS, SSIS, and Azure SQL Database • In-depth understanding of database management systems, OLAP architectures, and ETL processes • Practical experience with Databricks, including collaboration with data engineering teams and large-scale data processing environments • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics ecosystems, particularly Microsoft Azure–centric architectures • Strong capability to translate complex business requirements into scalable BI solutions and act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders • Proven experience conducting performance testing, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies across both reports and underlying data models • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, prioritize effectively, and operate independently • Extensive experience creating, maintaining, and governing technical documentation aligned with corporate standards • Solid experience working within corporate governance, security, and compliance frameworks • Mandatory experience coaching and mentoring junior and mid-level developers, including knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance • Strong leadership mindset with the ability to influence technical direction without formal line management responsibility • Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines, version control (Git), and CI/CD practices for enterprise BI assets Nice-to-Have / Value-Added • Awareness of Microsoft Fabric and its evolving role in unified analytics platforms • Interest in Generative AI tools and their application within business intelligence and analytics workflows • Familiarity with Copilot for Power BI, AI-assisted analytics, or natural language querying capabilities • Experience applying prompt engineering techniques to enhance productivity and insights within analytics contexts " Skill Requirements 1. Proficiency in snowflake, including data modeling, querying, and performance optimization. 2. Strong experience in azure data factory (adf) for data integration and orchestration. 3. Handson knowledge of data bricks for data engineering, data processing, and machine learning. 4. Ability to design, develop, and optimize complex data pipelines for etl processes. 5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot data pipeline issues. 6. Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and nontechnical stakeholders effectively. 7. Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate technical teams towards project delivery and success. 8. Experience in agile methodologies and project management practices for efficient project execution.
