Oracle Database administration, Azure-to-GCP database migration, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), performance tuning, backup & recovery, and cloud database platforms. Lead the administration, modernization, migration, reliability, and performance management of enterprise Oracle database environments supporting mission-critical business applications. The role involves leading large-scale Oracle migration projects, providing L3 production support, ensuring database availability, security, and performance, and driving automation and modernization initiatives Serve as the Oracle Database SME responsible for Oracle architecture, Azure-to-GCP database migrations, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), security, automation, and operational excellence. Provide advanced L3 production support for critical Oracle database platforms, ensuring maximum availability, performance, scalability, and compliance. Drive large-scale Oracle transformation initiatives, including migration of Oracle workloads from Azure and on-premises environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Application, Security, and DevOps teams to support cloud-native database modernization programs. Champion Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE), Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, observability, and DevOps practices to improve operational efficiency and resiliency. Key Responsibilities Administer and support enterprise Oracle Database environments across production, non-production, and disaster recovery landscapes. Lead Oracle database migration projects involving Azure-to-GCP migrations, platform modernization, database upgrades, and consolidation initiatives. Design, implement, and manage highly available Oracle architectures utilizing Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and cloud-native availability mechanisms. Provide L3 support for complex production incidents, problem management, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance troubleshooting. Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance through SQL tuning, execution plan optimization, indexing strategies, and workload management. Design and manage backup, recovery, Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR), cloning, and business continuity solutions. Implement and manage Oracle Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, failover testing, and resiliency programs. Support cloud database services including Oracle databases hosted on Compute Engine, Oracle on Kubernetes, and cloud storage integrations. Automate database provisioning, patching, backup validation, compliance checks, health monitoring, and operational workflows. Implement database security controls including encryption, auditing, access governance, privileged access management, and vulnerability remediation. Collaborate with application teams to optimize schemas, code performance, release deployments, and database lifecycle management. Participate in major change activities, maintenance windows, migration cutovers, and production readiness reviews. Develop operational runbooks, engineering standards, governance processes, and automation frameworks. Skill Requirements Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration (Oracle 12c, 19c, 21c, and later versions). Deep knowledge of: Oracle Architecture, Instance Management, Tablespaces, Storage Management, Database Security, Capacity Planning, Database Lifecycle Management Extensive experience with: Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Oracle Data Guard, Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management), Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Strong hands-on experience in:High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Backup & Recovery, Point-in-Time Recovery, Failover and Switchover Operations Proven experience delivering: Azure-to-GCP Database Migration Projects, On-Premises to Cloud Migrations, Oracle Version Upgrades, Database Consolidation Programs, Data Center Exit Initiatives Advanced expertise in: SQL Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, Execution Plan Analysis, Database Health Assessments, Capacity and Resource Optimization Strong knowledge of cloud database platforms including: Oracle on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle running on GCE, Oracle Databases on Kubernetes, Oracle Hybrid , Cloud Architectures, Cloud Storage and Backup Integrations Experience with: Linux Administration (RHEL, Oracle Linux, SUSE, Ubuntu) Shell Scripting, Python, Ansible, Terraform Working knowledge of: DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD Pipelines, Database-as-Code Practices Expertise in security and compliance areas including: Database Encryption, TDE (Transparent Data Encryption), Auditing, Access Governance, Vulnerability Management Cloud Native Monitoring Tools Terraform, Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python GitHub / GitLab / Azure DevOps Jenkins / Cloud Build Other Requirements Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise Oracle environments supporting mission-critical workloads. Demonstrated experience leading Oracle migration and cloud modernization programs. Experience working in Agile, DevOps, SRE, and cloud-centric operating models. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM), or equivalent certifications preferred. Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer, Database Engineer, Terraform Associate, or related cloud certifications are advantageous. Experience with Infrastructure Automation, Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE), Platform Engineering, and cloud migration factories will be considered a strong advantage.
