Share this job Email LinkedIn X Facebook . We Are Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow. You Are You have spent years deep in the physics of fluid flow, and somewhere along the way you realized that the hardest part is not running the simulation, it is helping someone else understand why their setup is not converging or why their turbulence model is giving them nonsense at Mach 0.8. You know the difference between a mesh that looks fine and one that will actually resolve the boundary layer, and you have learned to spot that difference in the first five minutes. You are comfortable standing in front of aerospace engineers walking through a compressible flow benchmark, and equally comfortable sitting with a customer three weeks from a design freeze who needs a workflow that actually works by Tuesday. You do not hide behind jargon. You explain complex tradeoffs in plain terms, and you care whether the person across the table actually understands. At Synopsys, you will work with customers solving real engineering problems, and what you recommend will directly affect whether their product gets to market on time. What You'll Be Doing Support the technical sales cycle from discovery calls and product demos to proof-of-concept projects and benchmarking evaluations Apply your CFD expertise in turbulence modeling, high-speed flows, and aerodynamics to help customers set up simulations that actually answer their engineering questions Work directly with customers to understand their challenges, build simulation workflows, and recommend methodologies that balance accuracy and turnaround time Deliver technical training, workshops, and presentations ranging from introductory sessions to advanced deep dives on compressible flow physics Provide hands-on consulting on active customer projects, troubleshooting setup issues and guiding teams toward solutions Collaborate with R&D and Product Management to relay customer requirements, validate new releases, and contribute to future product direction The Impact You Will Have Enable customers to solve complex fluid dynamics problems faster, directly affecting their product development timelines Shorten the time from software evaluation to deployment by delivering clear technical guidance during the sales process Improve customer success by ensuring teams know how to use the tools correctly and avoid common pitfalls Influence the product roadmap by surfacing real customer needs and testing new features against problems engineers actually face Build long-term customer relationships rooted in technical trust Expand CFD simulation reach within customer organizations by training engineers who will run hundreds of analyses using your workflows What You'll Need M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with strong foundation in fluid mechanics and numerical methods Deep knowledge of computational fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling, compressible flow physics, and numerical solution techniques Hands-on experience applying CFD to solve real engineering problems in industry or research Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex simulation concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders Comfort working directly with customers in pre-sales, consulting, or technical support roles Experience with high-speed, transonic, supersonic, or compressible flow simulations is a strong plus, especially in aerospace, defense Familiarity with Ansys Fluent, Ansys CFX, or similar CFD tools, and experience with Python scripting is a significant advantage Who You Are You can walk into a customer meeting, listen to a messy problem, and walk out with a clear plan for what to simulate and how to set it up You work with what the customer can give you, ask the right follow-up questions, and build a path forward without waiting for perfect information You know when to go deep on the physics and when to simplify based on what the customer actually needs <li style="--tw-border-spacing-x: 0; --tw-border-spacing-y: 0; --tw-translate-x: 0; --tw-translate-y: 0; --tw-rotate: 0; --tw-skew-x: 0; --tw-skew-y: 0; --tw-scale-x: 1; --tw-scale-y: 1; --tw-pan-x: ; --tw-pan-y: ; --tw-pinch-zoom: ; --tw-scroll-snap-strictness: proximity; --tw-gradient-from-position: ; --tw-gradient-via-position: ; --tw-gradient-to-position: ; --tw-ordinal: ; --tw-slashed-zero: ; --tw-numeric-figure: ; --tw-numeric-spacing: ; --tw-numeric-fraction: ; --tw-ring-inset: ; --tw-ring-offset-width: 0px; --tw-ring-offset-color: #fff; --tw-ring-color: rgb(59 130 246/0.5); --tw-ring-offset-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-ring-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-shadow: 0 0 #0000; --tw-shadow-colored: 0 0 #0000; --tw-blur: ; --tw-brightness: ; --tw-contrast: ; --tw-grayscale: ; --tw-hue-rotate: ; --tw-invert: ; --tw-saturate: ; --tw-sepia: ; --tw-drop-shadow: ; --tw-backdrop-blur: ; --tw-backdrop-bright
