We provide an attractive working environment for individuals looking for both personal and professional development. You will be part of an engaged and informal team who values skill and knowledge creation. Job purpose: The Procurement Operations Specialist ensures efficient and compliant execution of day-to-day purchasing activities while supporting the rollout and adoption of ALK's Procure-to-Pay (P2P) platform and related processes. The role combines classic operational purchasing responsibilities with a strong focus on system support, user enablement, testing, and continuous improvement, acting as a key interface between business users, IT, and Global Procurement, and taking ownership of operational purchases below the category managers' responsibility threshold. Key responsibilities: Operational purchasing & P2P execution • Own and execute purchases falling below the value threshold at which category managers assume responsibility, ensuring low-value and tail-spend buying is handled efficiently, compliantly, and through preferred channels where available. • Execute purchase orders and follow-up in accordance with procurement policies and agreed supplier terms. • Support requisition-to-order processes within the P2P platform, ensuring correct usage and high data quality. • Resolve operational purchasing issues related to pricing, deliveries, invoicing, and system workflows. • Act as first-line support for operational purchasing questions from the business. P2P platform implementation & testing • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the P2P platform. • Participate actively in testing new workflows, system enhancements, and releases. • Challenge system outputs and process design to ensure usability, compliance, and business relevance. • Identify gaps, errors, or inefficiencies and raise improvement proposals to relevant stakeholders. Business support & adoption • Provide best-in-class day-to-day support to business users using the P2P platform. • Guide users on correct purchasing behavior, system navigation, and process compliance. • Act as a go-to person for practical questions related to purchasing processes and tools. • Gather user feedback and convert it into structured input for process and system improvements. Training & communication • Support the development of training materials, user guides, and FAQs for purchasing processes and the P2P platform. • Potentially plan and deliver training sessions for Local Organizations and Business Units during platform rollout and process changes. • Support change initiatives by communicating clearly about new ways of working and expectations. Process support & continuous improvement • Contribute to documentation and standardization of operational procurement processes. • Support initiatives aimed at improving data quality for suppliers, catalogs, and transactions. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, transparency, and user satisfaction. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, or a related field. • Experience in operational purchasing, procurement operations, or a similar role. • Hands-on experience working with ERP and/or P2P systems. • Solid understanding of end-to-end Procure-to-Pay processes. • Knowledge of regulated environments (e.g. GxP) is an advantage, but not a requirement. We offer: ALK GBSC provides a uniquely dynamic and pleasant work environment, complete with inspiring and challenging assignments. The results of your efforts will be significant throughout the organization and you will be able to actively influence and challenge the status quo. Our flat structures attract independent individuals who like to feel the progress of the business and enjoy being close to the decision-making process. You will be part of an engaged and informal team who values skill and knowledge creation. We consider our pioneering spirit coupled with our trustworthiness our winning formula.
