Your Job As a Senior / Principal Sourcing Engineer, Indirect Procurement, you will be part of the Indirect Sourcing team based at Molex Malaysia’s Penang facility. You will be responsible for the strategic and tactical execution of sourcing and procurement activities across assigned indirect categories to support plant operations. You will work closely with site management, stakeholders and end users while ensuring alignment with Molex procurement governance, frameworks and Global/Regional procurement directives. Your category responsibilities may include Machinery, Facilities, Tool Spares, HR, IT, MRO, Packaging and other indirect categories. Our Team You will be part of the Indirect Sourcing team supporting Molex Malaysia plant operations and will report to the Sourcing Center Manager based in Singapore. You will work closely with Plant Operations, end-user functions, suppliers, and Global/Regional Category Management teams to drive procurement excellence, operational effectiveness and business growth. What You Will Do Build strong relationships with Molex Malaysia management, stakeholders and end users to strengthen Procurement Excellence capabilities and support Plant Operations. Collaborate closely with the Category Management team for assigned categories to develop and execute sourcing strategies that best support Molex Plant Operations. Manage end-to-end Indirect Sourcing processes, including RFQ, RFP, competitive bidding, auctions, cost benchmarking, supplier negotiations and supplier management, while engaging stakeholders to achieve Molex business objectives. Take ownership of procurement performance, key deliverables and KPIs for assigned categories. Manage contract negotiations and procurement processes, including PR/PO activities and supplier invoicing. Support end-user departments through sourcing activities, cost benchmarking and completion of buyer actions required for PO release. Ensure suppliers meet required deliverables to support Plant Operations, end users and customer requirements. Work closely with Plant Operations and cross-functional teams to support operational excellence and business growth. Support and drive cost-reduction initiatives, with responsibility for delivering annual cost-saving goals. Lead business negotiations with suppliers to establish agreements that encourage compliance and alignment between suppliers and end users. Support evolving Indirect Sourcing initiatives by proactively identifying supply-base and supply issues, developing risk-mitigation actions, supporting Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and exploring emerging opportunities. Collaborate with Global and Regional Category Management teams to identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with purchasing and sourcing procedures, SOPs, Global/Regional procurement directives and other applicable requirements. Apply Principle Based Management (PBM) principles in day-to-day work and decision-making. Perform other procurement responsibilities and assignments as required within the Molex Indirect Procurement community. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. 5–8 years of experience in Indirect Sourcing or Procurement, with experience managing an indirect category portfolio. Experience managing one or more indirect procurement categories such as Machinery, Facilities, MRO, HR, Tool Spares, IT, Packaging or other relevant categories. Experience managing sourcing and procurement activities, including supplier engagement, sourcing processes and commercial negotiations. What Will Put You Ahead Experience in a supervisory, project leadership or other relevant leadership capacity. Knowledge of data analytics tools and the ability to leverage data to support sourcing and procurement decisions. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at different levels of the organisation. Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
