Job description

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Configuration Lead to lead the digital transformation activities including but not limited to design, configuration, integration, testing, and deployment of SAP S/4HANA master and reference data used in the business processes. The role will work closely with business process owners, SAP functional workstreams, Data Migration, Enterprise Data Management, and technical teams to ensure the SAP ECC to S/4HANA solution is correctly configured and aligned with business requirements. The role will lead and drive the reference and configuration data required to support the S/4HANA implementation and ensure that configuration decisions are synchronized with data migration and master-data workstreams. • Lead SAP S/4HANA functional configuration of master data across relevant modules, including Finance, Sales & Distribution, Materials Management, Production, Quality, Management, EWM, Asset Management, and Supply Chain, as applicable. •Translate business requirements into scalable S/4HANA configuration and solution designs. • Define and maintain and configuration reference data, including organizational structures, plants, company codes, sales organizations, purchasing organizations, storage locations, material groups, procurement types, valuation areas, and other configuration-dependent values. • Work with business stakeholders to validate fit-to-standard / fit-to-gap requirements for master and reference data, minimize unnecessary customizations. Lead configuration activities through Explore, Realize, testing, deployment, and hypercare phases. • Coordinate configuration data dependencies across SAP functional modules and integrated systems. • Ensure configuration changes are properly documented, reviewed, transported, and controlled. • Partner with the Data Migration team to identify configuration dependencies, mapping requirements, value translations, and sequencing for migration objects. Collaborate with Enterprise Data Management / Data Governance teams to establish ownership, standards, definitions, and quality requirements for reference data. • Support data migration mock loads, integration testing, SIT, UAT, cutover, and production validation. • Analyze configuration and data-related defects, determine root causes, and coordinate resolution across functional and technical teams. • Support integration with SAP BTP, MDM, MES, PLM, EWM, CRM, legacy applications, and other enterprise platforms as applicable. • Review and approve functional specifications for data enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, workflows, and integrations. • Establish data configuration standards, reusable templates, and governance mechanisms across multiple business units or deployment waves. • Provide status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and issue escalation to program leadership. • Mentor functional consultants and provide leadership across the S/4HANA configuration workstream. Key Deliverables • S/4HANA data configuration blueprint and solution design Configuration/reference-data catalog • Organizational structure and enterprise structure data configuration, Configuration workbooks and functional specifications • Fit-to-standard / fit-gap data assessment • Data Configuration dependency matrix • Data migration configuration dependency matrix • SIT/UAT data configuration support • Data defect resolution and root-cause analysis • Cutover configuration plan for data objects • Data Configuration validation and production readiness sign-off • Post-go-live stabilization and hypercare support Required Experience • 10 + years of SAP S/4 HANA experience, with significant hands-on large digital transformation programs as SI. • Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA master and reference data configuration and end-to-end implementation methodologies. • Experience working across multiple SAP functional modules and understanding cross-module dependencies. • Strong understanding of SAP organizational structures and reference data.
