Job description
***Could be located at any EU ACES Corporate Office (UK: London/Manchester; FR: Paris; DE: Berlin/Munich; ES: Madrid/Barcelona; IT: Milan; LU: Luxembourg)*** As a Process Expert within the EU AMZL Same Day UTR Excellence (SDX) team, you will own and drive the initiatives that transform Same Day operations across Amazon's last-mile network. Same Day is Amazon's fastest-growing delivery promise, scaling to billions of units over the next three years, yet it runs on processes, tooling and buildings designed for Next Day. You will design and implement the systems, standard work and performance metrics that close that gap, maximizing throughput, cost efficiency and continuous improvement, using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to deliver measurable results across the Same Day under-the-roof operation, from injection into the delivery station through to the handoff to the road. This is a role for someone who loves solving complex operational problems with data, can translate ambiguity into scalable process improvement, and can influence change across teams without direct authority. Key job responsibilities Process ownership: Map the Same Day under-the-roof process end to end across its distinct delivery cycles, identify and measure waste, and design solutions that eliminate it, driving toward automation and operational excellence. Problem solving: Define problems, conduct root cause analysis (5-Why, fishbone, DMAIC), test and validate solutions, and design scalable roll-out plans with robust control mechanisms. Benchmarking and standards: Create benchmark rates across Same Day process paths, establish standard work, conduct time studies, and build audit processes to sustain gains. Financial modelling: Build clear financial models for improvement initiatives and collaborate with Finance to establish project-level reporting and return-on-investment tracking. Stakeholder communication: Write business proposals tailored to diverse audiences, adjusting depth and style to the audience, and proactively communicate project progress, risks and network impact. Cross-functional partnership: Build strong partnerships with operations field leaders, technology teams, fulfilment and speed-program partners to identify opportunities, share best practices and deploy initiatives on-site. Change management: Drive adoption of process changes across the network without direct reporting lines, using data-driven approaches and scalable mechanisms to deliver within agreed timeframes. About the team EU AMZL Same Day UTR Excellence (SDX) sits within ACES and is part of STEP. We own the operational design of the Same Day under-the-roof operation, building processes designed for Same Day rather than inheriting a Next Day model the speed has outgrown. We combine data-driven problem solving with hands-on process expertise to set the standard for Same Day performance as the network scales. If you enjoy seeing your improvements scale across dozens of sites and directly impact thousands of associates, this is the team for you. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Math, Engineering, Science or Business - Experience with tools/systems to analyze data including Excel, Access, SQL or other data management systems - Experience in process improvement - Experience in process improvement - Knowledge of analytic tools - Knowledge of general AI tools Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
