Job Title: SAP Basis Lead Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to oversee the administration, support, optimization, and strategic management of enterprise SAP landscapes. This role is responsible for leading Basis operations, driving SAP infrastructure initiatives, managing technical teams, and ensuring the stability, scalability, security, and performance of SAP environments across on-premise and cloud platforms. Key Responsibilities SAP Basis Leadership & Strategy • Lead the SAP Basis function supporting SAP ECC, S/4HANA, BW, PI/PO, Solution Manager, SAP BTP, and related platforms • Define and implement SAP Basis standards, operational processes, and best practices • Provide technical leadership for SAP modernization, cloud migration, and S/4HANA transformation initiatives • Develop roadmap recommendations for SAP infrastructure scalability, performance, and automation SAP Landscape Management • Oversee installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, refreshes, and maintenance activities across SAP environments • Manage SAP transport strategy and coordinate landscape governance across Development, QA, and Production systems • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and recovery strategies are implemented and tested SAP HANA & Database Administration • Lead SAP HANA database administration activities including performance tuning, monitoring, backup/recovery, and optimization • Coordinate database upgrades and platform migrations • Ensure database security, compliance, and operational reliability Cloud & Infrastructure Operations • Support SAP environments hosted on AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud platforms • Lead technical activities related to RISE with SAP, cloud transformation, and hybrid architectures • Collaborate with infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure seamless operations Team Leadership & Delivery Management • Lead and mentor SAP Basis administrators and technical support teams • Manage workload distribution, technical escalations, and operational priorities • Coordinate with global delivery teams, vendors, and managed service providers • Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives Performance, Security & Compliance • Monitor SAP system performance and proactively address risks or bottlenecks • Ensure compliance with SOX, audit, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements • Support SAP security initiatives, system hardening, and access governance activities Project & Release Support • Support SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, and integration projects • Participate in cutover planning, go-live activities, and hypercare support • Coordinate technical dependencies across functional, development, and infrastructure teams Required Qualifications • 8–12+ years of SAP Basis administration experience • 3+ years of leadership or team management experience • Strong expertise in SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and SAP HANA administration • Experience with SAP upgrades, migrations, system copies, and transport management • Hands-on experience supporting SAP environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP • Strong understanding of SAP architecture, performance tuning, and security best practices • Experience managing complex enterprise SAP landscapes and global delivery models Preferred Qualifications • Experience with RISE with SAP, SAP Cloud ALM, or SAP Focused Run • Knowledge of automation and scripting tools (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Ansible, etc.) • SAP Basis and/or SAP HANA certifications preferred • Experience supporting regulated environments or large enterprise transformations Key Competencies • Technical leadership and problem-solving • Strong communication and stakeholder management • Delivery management and operational discipline • Strategic thinking and continuous i Key Responsibilities Job Title: SAP Basis Lead Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Lead to oversee the administration, support, optimization, and strategic management of enterprise SAP landscapes.
