AP Accountant HCMC | Viet Nam (VN) | Full-time | Permanent I. ROLE PURPOSE The AP Accountant is responsible for the timely, accurate, and compliant processing of domestic and overseas payments, including raw material and asset imports, tools & instruments (CCDC), import/export service fees, landed costs, operating expenses, and intercompany transactions. This role prepares payment requests with full supporting documentation, supports month-end closing entries, and assists the AP Supervisor/Accounting Manager with reporting and reconciliation to maintain effective AP operations. Import & Domestic Purchase Payments Process invoices and payments for imported raw materials, coordinating data entry in both SAP and PMP systems. Process payments for imported fixed assets. Record and process payments for tools & instruments (CCDC) under account 153. Record and process payments for import/export handling service fees. Record and process landed cost items such as freight insurance. 2. Operating Expense Payments Process payments for operating expenses, entertainment, and gifts. Process repair expenses under VND 10 million directly to cost. Process repair expenses over VND 10 million for allocation under account 242. Process bank service fee invoices, including data received via automation/AI tools reformatted for upload to the payment template. 3. Intercompany (IC) Transactions Perform IC booking and payment processing. Reconcile intercompany balances with related IC companies on a regular basis. 4. Period-End Closing Prepare accrual and provision entries related to the above cost items to support monthly closing. 5. Payment Request Preparation Prepare complete and accurate payment requests (documentation, scanning, file naming per format, payment order creation, and attachment) prior to submission for review and approval. Ensure supporting documents are properly compiled and attached before creating SAP payment orders for transfer to banks after full approval. 3 Reporting Support preparation of weekly and monthly payment schedule reports. Support preparation of the monthly AP aging report, highlighting overdue or outstanding items. IC reconciliation report Provide AP-related data and ad hoc reports as required by the AP Supervisor/Accounting Manager. 4 Compliance Ensure all AP transactions comply with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal control requirements. Maintain proper documentation and filing for all payment transactions. Support internal and external audit and tax authority requests related to AP matters. IV. REQUIREMENTS No. Special Requirement Description 1 EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2 WORKING EXPERIENCE At least 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting. Experience handling import/export or high-volume transaction processing is an advantage. Experience working with intercompany (IC) transactions is a plus. Familiarity with automation/AI tools to support data processing is an advantage. 3 COMPETENCIES Good knowledge of accounts payable processes, payment controls, and reconciliation. Basic understanding of accounting principles (VAS) and relevant tax requirements. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage high transaction volumes accurately. Good communication and coordination skills with internal stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Good communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
