Job Description: Job Overview Join TE Connectivity's innovative Active Electric Cables Development organization as a R&D/Product Development Engineer II and help test the software platforms, automation systems, and data-driven solutions that enable the next generation of active electric/optical connectivity products powering AI/data centers and wireless infrastructure. This role combines product validation, interoperability testing, software engineering, automation development, and data-driven quality analysis. The engineer will work closely with Product Development, Firmware, Signal Integrity, Systems Architecture, Manufacturing, and Customer Engineering teams to identify risks early, improve product quality, and accelerate release readiness through robust automated regression frameworks and interoperability validation. Job Requirements The successful candidate will: • Increase automated regression coverage and execution efficiency. • Improve product interoperability and release readiness. • Reduce defect escape rates through earlier validation. • Enhance quality visibility through automation and analytics. • Contribute to scalable validation platforms and engineering tools. • Accelerate qualification of next-generation high-speed connectivity products What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred. • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product development, validation engineering, test automation, software testing, or interoperability testing. • Experience working in a laboratory-based engineering environment. Core Technical Competencies • Proficiency in Python or equivalent programming language. • Experience developing automated test frameworks and validation tools. • Knowledge of software testing best practices, source control, and Agile Software Development Life Cycle. • Experience with Git, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, Jira, and CI/CD workflows. • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Mandate Skills: Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Active Electrical Cables (AEC), Active Copper Cables (ACC), Active Optical Cables (AOC), or high-speed interconnect products. • Knowledge of CMIS specifications and management interfaces. • Familiarity with PAM4 signaling, BER testing, jitter analysis, equalization, and signal integrity concepts. • Experience with BERTs, VNAs, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, and automated laboratory environments. • Experience with PyTest, hardware-in-the-loop automation, and large-scale regression systems. • Experience developing web applications, dashboards, or engineering tools using Python and React or similar technologies. • Understanding of AI-assisted testing, data analytics, or intelligent automation solutions Professional Skills • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and creative approach to solving complex technical challenges involving software, equipment, and manufacturing systems. • Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to software developers, engineers, technicians, and business stakeholders. • Project Management: Experience managing multiple software development initiatives with competing priorities and deadlines. • Continuous Learning: Passion for learning emerging technologies, automation tools, software frameworks, and advanced manufacturing systems.
