Experience 8 to 10 Years of experience in Mainframe application development and support. Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM to support the development, enhancement, maintenance, and modernization of enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, performing technical reviews, and ensuring high-quality production-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Lead analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of application enhancements using COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM . Drive end-to-end project delivery from requirement gathering through development, testing, deployment, and post-production support. Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable and efficient solutions. Perform detailed impact analysis and effort estimation for new initiatives and enhancements. Participate in solution design discussions and contribute to architecture and technical decision-making. Conduct technical design reviews, code reviews, and peer reviews to ensure adherence to quality standards and production readiness. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring minimal business disruption. Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational procedures. Support batch and online application development, testing, and performance optimization. Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security policies, and audit requirements. Contribute to Mainframe modernization initiatives and adoption of modern DevOps practices, including GitHub-based source code management and CI/CD processes . Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and support teams. Working knowledge of Change Management and Release Management processes. Exposure to modern integration technologies and APIs. Experience with Mainframe modernization tools and cloud transformation initiatives. Knowledge of ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing tools. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications in Mainframe technologies are a plus. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams. Strong ownership mindset with focus on quality and timely delivery. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
