The Director & Head of Application Development & Engineering is a senior technology leadership role within the Global Digital Workplace organization, reporting to the Head of Digital Workplace. The role leads a global team of approximately 30 employees, including people managers, with responsibility for software engineering, digital solution development and service ownership.The engineering scope spans low-code and enterprise development platforms through to fully custom software development. The organization also provides end-to-end service management for a selected portfolio of third-party workplace solutions.We are looking for a deeply technical software engineering leader with significant hands-on development experience who has progressed into senior leadership. This is not a purely people-management role. The successful candidate will remain close to the technology and provide direction on architecture, engineering and solution design, while leading the organization and its delivery portfolio. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a global organization of approximately 30 employees, including people managers.Provide technical leadership across software engineering, architecture, application development, integration and automation.Lead development across low-code, enterprise development platforms and fully custom applications. Drive engineering quality and consistent adoption of established SDLC, architecture, security and engineering standards.Drive modernization, simplification and lifecycle management of the application l andscape. Oversee end-to-end service delivery for selected third-party workplace solutions, including vendor, lifecycle and service management. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable and sustainable solutions. Experience Strong hands-on software development and engineering background, followed by progression into senior technology leadership.Proven experience leading sizeable, multidisciplinary engineering teams, including people managers. Strong depth in software architecture, application development, integration and modern engineering practices. Experience across both custom software development and low-code/application platforms.
