Job description
Your Job The Advanced Quality Planning Lead based in Navi Mumbai, India. The role is responsible for expanding quality capabilities across the full product realization process, from design and development through manufacturing launch and stabilization. It establishes and drives a disciplined, cross-functional approach to quality planning for new products, major product changes, supplier transitions, and manufacturing process changes. The role ensures that customer, regulatory, engineering, supplier, and operational requirements are translated into robust, prevention-focused quality plans before production release. This position leads to Advanced Product Quality Planning activities, strengthens design and manufacturing readiness, and reduces quality risk across the product lifecycle. What You Will Do Drive the quality planning process from concept through launch and stabilization, including quality gates, deliverables, risks, timing, and escalation. Convert customer, product, process, regulatory, and reliability requirements into measurable critical characteristics, inspection strategies, validation plans, and acceptance criteria. Facilitate design and process risk reviews, including DFMEA and PFMEA, and ensure actions are completed and reflected in control plans, work instructions, and validation activities. Establish quality continuity from design into manufacturing by ensuring design outputs, critical characteristics, risk controls, verification results, and lessons learned are effectively transferred into production processes and controls. Coordinate production part approval, capability studies, measurement system analysis, first-article inspection, safe-launch controls, and release documentation as applicable. Work with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Project Management, Commercial, and regional Quality teams to resolve gaps and maintain clear accountability. Align supplier quality planning with program requirements, review supplier submissions, and escalate risks that could affect launch, cost, delivery, or customer performance. Standardize templates, governance, lessons learned, and best practices while ensuring compliance with the quality management system and applicable standards. Lead structured problem solving and containment for pre-launch and early-life issues, using root-cause methods and corrective action to prevent recurrence. Track readiness and performance indicators, identify trends, communicate risks to leadership, and drive timely recovery plans. Coach project teams and quality professionals in advanced quality methods, customer-specific requirements, and prevention-based thinking. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical field. Experience in quality, engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, or new product introduction within an industrial or engineered-product environment. Demonstrated experience leading APQP or equivalent structured quality planning for new products and process changes. Working knowledge of FMEA, control plans, process capability, measurement system analysis, statistical methods, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and production part approval practices. Experience working across functions, sites, suppliers, and regions to deliver complex programs. Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, influence without direct authority, and align stakeholders across functions, sites, and regions. Strong project leadership, facilitation, communication, and risk-management skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, manufacturing processes, and customer requirements. Ability to travel as required to manufacturing sites, suppliers, and customer locations. What Will Put You Ahead Advanced degree in Engineering, Quality, Operations, or Business. Professional certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent. Experience with global product launches, low-volume/high-mix manufacturing, engineered-to-order products, or regulated applications. Experience with quality planning and lifecycle management systems.
