Internship Overview The BioMarin Summer Internship Program provides students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry while contributing to meaningful projects that support our mission. Interns work alongside experienced scientists, clinicians, and business professionals, gaining exposure to real-world challenges and innovative approaches to drug development. Throughout the program, interns participate in professional development activities, networking opportunities, leadership speaker sessions, mentorship experiences, and an end-of-summer project presentation. Interns are supported by dedicated managers and mentors who provide guidance, coaching, and opportunities for growth. Potential Areas of Opportunity Summer internship opportunities may be available across all four functions: Research and Development, Technical Operations, Corporate Groups and Commercial. Areas of opportunity include, but not limited to: Research & Early Development Clinical Development Clinical Operations Clinical Pharmacology Global Medical Affairs Regulatory Affairs Data Science & Analytics Bioinformatics and Computational Sciences Translational Sciences Drug Discovery Project Management Biometrics, Statistics, and Data Management Scientific and Business Operations Supply Chain Human Resources Finance IT Business Development, Commercial, Marketing Legal Corporate Affairs Opportunities vary each year based on business needs and organizational priorities. Qualifications Candidates must be currently pursuing, or recently have graduated within one year, with one of the following degrees at an accredited university: Bachelor’s Degree (Undergraduate) Master’s Degree MBA JD PharmD PhD Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) throughout the internship program. Candidates who can work at the designated internship location and relocate if necessary for onsite or hybrid opportunities. Strong academic performance and demonstrated interest in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, healthcare, business, or a related field. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Availability to work full-time during the internship period.
