Job description

Veeam Administration Administer and support enterprise Veeam Backup & Replication environments. Manage backup infrastructure components including Veeam Backup Servers, Proxies, Repositories, Gateways, and associated services. Configure and maintain backup, replication, retention, archival, and recovery policies in alignment with business requirements. Ensure backup environment availability, reliability, and compliance with organizational standards. Advanced Troubleshooting Serve as the L3 escalation point for complex backup and recovery issues. Troubleshoot backup job failures, snapshot errors, repository issues, proxy connectivity problems, transport mode failures, and application-aware processing errors. Perform detailed log analysis and diagnostics to identify root causes and implement long-term resolutions. Drive proactive issue prevention through trend analysis and corrective actions. Backup & Recovery Management Lead complex recovery activities including VM-level, file-level, volume-level, and application-level restores. Support critical restoration requests and disaster recovery exercises. Validate recovery operations against defined Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). Conduct periodic restore testing and backup verification to ensure recoverability and business continuity readiness. Infrastructure Monitoring & Performance Optimization Monitor backup infrastructure health, repository utilization, throughput, backup windows, job performance, and operational efficiency. Identify bottlenecks across source systems, storage repositories, network components, and backup proxies. Recommend tuning, optimization, and capacity enhancements to improve backup performance and reliability. Perform capacity planning and forecasting for future growth requirements. Incident & Problem Management Lead technical investigations for major backup and recovery incidents. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement permanent corrective measures. Support P1/P2 incidents and collaborate with VMware, Windows, Linux, Storage, Network, Cloud, and Application support teams to achieve timely resolution. Maintain incident documentation and ensure adherence to service management processes. Change, Patch & Upgrade Management Plan and execute Veeam upgrades, patch deployments, repository migrations, and infrastructure enhancements. Develop implementation procedures, validation plans, rollback strategies, and risk mitigation documentation. Conduct post-change verification, backup validation, and restore testing to ensure platform stability. Security & Backup Resilience Support secure backup architecture and data protection best practices. Implement and maintain role-based access controls and infrastructure hardening measures. Support immutable, air-gapped, or offline backup solutions as part of ransomware protection strategies. Participate in cyber-recovery, ransomware-response, and disaster recovery readiness exercises. Cloud & Backup Modernization Provide support for Veeam-based data protection across virtualized, hybrid, and cloud environments. Participate in backup transformation and modernization initiatives. Support migration projects from legacy backup platforms such as EMC NetWorker, Data Domain, or other enterprise backup solutions to Veeam. Assist in platform consolidation, performance optimization, and cloud adoption strategies. Automation & Reporting Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, scripting, and Veeam APIs. Automate routine operational activities including health checks, backup validation, failed-job analysis, compliance monitoring, and reporting. Prepare operational dashboards and technical reports covering backup success rates, restore activities, capacity utilization, SLA compliance, risk assessments, and performance metrics. Drive continuous operational improvement through automation and reporting enhancements.
