Job description

This is Adyen Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition. For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster. FP&A Analyst FP&A should help the business understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what we should do next. In this role, that means supporting the FP&A team with clear financial insights, building a strong understanding of our cost base, and working with teams across Adyen to connect financial performance to what is happening in the business. At Adyen, we do not work with traditional budgets. The role is therefore not about checking whether teams stay within a fixed cost number. It is about understanding the drivers behind our costs, improving the quality of our forecasts, and helping Finance and the business identify risks, opportunities, and areas that require action. We are looking for an FP&A Analyst who is analytical, curious, and hands-on. You will support core FP&A processes such as monthly close, forecasting, and planning, while also helping us improve how we use data, Pigment, automation, and AI to make the team more effective. What you'll do • Support the FP&A team in providing financial insights into our performance, with a particular focus on understanding our cost base and the key drivers behind it • Work closely with teams across the business to understand financial developments, challenge assumptions, and translate these into clear and actionable insights • Contribute to our monthly close, forecasting, and planning cycles, performing variance analysis and helping the team understand where performance differs from expectations • Build and maintain financial models and use Pigment and our existing data infrastructure to improve, simplify, and automate recurring FP&A processes • Support deep dives into specific areas of the business, identifying financial risks and opportunities, and contribute to broader FP&A and Group Finance projects Who you are • You have approximately 4-6 years of experience in FP&A, Finance, Business Control, or a similar analytical role • You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable working with financial models, large datasets, and core FP&A concepts such as variance analysis and forecasting • You are curious and want to understand the business behind the numbers, rather than only reporting financial outcomes • You are comfortable working with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders, can turn analysis into clear actions, and can work independently while knowing when to involve others • You are comfortable in a fast-paced environment and enjoy improving processes; experience with Pigment or Anaplan is an advantage, and SQL, Python, automation, or AI experience is a plus Why this role matters As Adyen grows, understanding our cost base becomes more important than simply reporting how much we spent. We need to understand what is driving the movement, which developments are structural, what is likely to happen next, and where we need better information from the business. That requires Finance to stay close to the teams behind the numbers. Employee costs, external spend, technology, marketing, offices, and other investments all behave differently. Good FP&A means combining financial data with business context so that we can explain performance, improve the forecast, and identify areas that need attention early. This role strengthens that foundation. By owning high-quality analysis, building better models, working with stakeholders, and improving how we use Pigment and automation, the Analyst helps the wider FP&A team make faster and better-informed decisions.</p&
