Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies to design, develop, enhance, and support critical business applications. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM, and production support activities within large-scale enterprise environments, preferably in Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI) domains. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance Mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Perform coding, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Support batch and online processing systems. Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolution. Conduct impact analysis for application changes and enhancements. Work closely with business analysts, testing teams, and infrastructure teams. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards. Prepare technical documentation and operational procedures. Support system upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives. Required Technical Skills COBOL JCL (Job Control Language) DB2 CICS VSAM IMS/DB (preferred) MQ Series File Manager, Abend-AID, Xpeditor IBM Z/OS Changeman, Endevor or similar version control tools Production Support and Incident Management Desired Skills Exposure to Mainframe Modernization initiatives. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience in BFSI domain applications. Understanding of SLAs, ITIL processes, and service management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant Mainframe certifications are an added advantage. Mandatory Experience Minimum 4+ years of hands-on Mainframe development experience. Experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Strong debugging and problem-resolution skills. Experience in production support and incident management. Nice to Have Mainframe modernization tools knowledge. Python, Java, or API integration exposure. Cloud migration assessment experience.
