Job description

About This Role: eir business is seeking a Business Solution Consultant to maximise the commercial return from Cisco solutions sold, renewed and managed by eir business. The role is entirely focused on Cisco and sits within the Presales and Design practice. Given Cisco is one of eir business's largest technology Partners, the opportunity is to convert that position into higher-value, recurring revenue: more software and subscription, stronger renewals, and Cisco technology delivered with eir business managed security and IT services. The role needs real technical depth in the Cisco portfolio and its commercial models. The successful candidate will work with account managers and pre-sales to shape Cisco solutions that win, renew and grow, and will know how Cisco's buying programmes, licensing and lifecycle models can be used to improve margin on each deal. Why This Role: eir Business is the B2B division of eir and one of Ireland's leading providers of telecommunications, technology, cloud, cybersecurity, managed IT and workplace solutions. Supporting organisations of all sizes, from SMEs to large enterprises and public sector bodies, eir Business delivers secure, end-to-end connectivity and digital transformation services that help customers operate more efficiently, securely and effectively. Leveraging Ireland's largest mobile network, extensive fixed-line infrastructure, cloud capabilities and 24/7 expert support, eir Business partners with customers to design, implement and manage technology solutions that enable innovation, productivity and business growth. Expectations From The Role: Act as an eir business Cisco solution and commercial specialist across enterprise networking, network security and collaboration, from opportunity through to renewal. Work with account managers and pre-sales to identify, qualify and shape Cisco opportunities, including solution positioning, bill of materials review and commercial structure. Collaborate on the Cisco renewal pipeline across subscriptions, Enterprise Agreements and support contracts. Secure renewals early and use each renewal to review technology adoption as well as expand on feature / user licensing Drive the move from hardware-led deals to software, subscription and Enterprise Agreement models that improve recurring revenue and margin. Analyse the Cisco install base to find end-of-life refresh, network security expansion and collaboration opportunities, and build a forward refresh and renewal calendar. Track licence and subscription utilisation across customers. Drive adoption and effective usage where consumption is low so renewals are protected. Attach eir business managed security and IT services to Cisco solutions, working with the practice to package Cisco technology into managed offers. Design and run Cisco-specific margin campaigns, for example security refresh, SD-WAN migration and Webex adoption, using deal-level incentives and deal registration on every eligible opportunity. Develop and execute a day-to-day technical and commercial relationship with Cisco's channel teams on behalf of the practice. Provide Cisco pipeline, renewal and performance data to the practice lead to facilitate joint business planning with Partner team and Sales. Requirements For A Successful Application: Proven experience in a Cisco-focused technical sales, pre-sales, solutions or partner role with a Cisco partner, distributor or Cisco itself. Deep knowledge of the Cisco portfolio: enterprise networking, SD-WAN, network security (firewall, SASE, identity) and collaboration. Strong working knowledge of Cisco commercial models: Enterprise Agreements, subscriptions, Smart Licensing and support contracts. Experience managing Cisco renewals and lifecycle at scale. Understanding of Cisco partner incentives and deal registration, and how they affect deal margin. Cisco certifications (e.g. CCNA or CCNP) desirable. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate Cisco capability into customer outcomes and margin. Experience managing pipeline in a CRM (Dynamics 365 desirable).
