Job description
Who we are Helsing develops artificial intelligence-enabled capabilities to protect and defend democracies. We are growing our US operations, cultivating an ambitio u s and committed team of mission-driven professionals to apply their skills to solve challenging problems. The role As Senior Electronics Engineer, you will design and integrate electronics for a next-generation loitering munition system being developed for the U.S. Army. You will work across the vehicle’s boards and electronic subsystems, connecting hardware that must operate as one system. Your work will span printed circuit board (PCB) design, integration of existing electronics, and the data signals that pass between components. You will help decide when a board should be designed, adapted, or sourced. You will then take the selected option through integration. For custom hardware, you will design circuits. You will bring up the boards and test their interfaces. For sourced hardware, you will assess fit before integration. You will diagnose problems across connected systems. You will work with systems, software, and hardware engineers to define interfaces that each team can implement and test. This is a hands-on senior engineering role with a broad view of vehicle electronics. As the team grows, you may take primary hardware design responsibility for a specific electronic component. The position is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work arrangement. The day-to-day • Design PCBs and take board designs through schematic, layout, build, and test. • Compare custom, adapted, and sourced electronics against system needs to inform design or buy decisions. • Integrate electronic boards and subsystems into the vehicle’s hardware. • Define data and signal interfaces with the engineers responsible for connected systems. • Diagnose faults during board bring-up and system integration. • Run bench and ground tests to verify board and interface performance under expected operating conditions. • Design for electromagnetic interference and electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC), then support related testing. • Support field operations when electronic hardware needs integration or troubleshooting. • Work with mechanical, manufacturing, systems, and software engineers to fit electronics into the vehicle and resolve interface issues. You should apply if you • Have at least ten years of experience developing electronic hardware for complex products, such as vehicles, robots, or other integrated systems. • Have designed PCBs and taken board designs through build and hardware test. • Have integrated electronic boards into larger systems, whether the boards were developed in-house or sourced. • Can define and verify data and signal interfaces between electronic components. • Can diagnose board-level and system-level electrical problems. • Can assess when to design, adapt, or source electronic hardware and carry the selected solution through integration. • Can work across hardware, software, and systems teams to resolve integration problems. • Have hands-on soldering experience with electronic components or boards. • Have experience with EMI/EMC testing and designs that protect circuits from interference. • Are a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Note: We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications; ability and impact cannot be summarized in a few bullet points. <span data-ccp-props="{"134233117":false,"134233118":false,&
