Job Title Embedded Software Engineer – Bare-Metal Bootloader (OTA-Compliant ECU) Job Summary Develop and validate a bare-metal automotive bootloader for a single ECU, ensuring secure, reliable, and OTA-compliant firmware updates. Key Responsibilities Design and develop a bare-metal bootloader. Implement Secure Boot, OTA update, rollback, and recovery mechanisms. Develop Flash programming (erase/write/verify) and memory management. Implement UDS over CAN/CAN FD/DoIP for ECU programming. Integrate bootloader with ECU hardware and application software. Perform unit, integration, OTA, and fault-injection testing. Ensure compliance with MISRA C, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, and ASPICE. Prepare technical documentation and maintain requirements traceability. Required Skills Embedded C, Bare-Metal Programming Bootloader & Secure Boot OTA Firmware Update UDS, CAN/CAN FD, DoIP Flash Memory Programming ARM Cortex / Infineon AURIX / NXP / Renesas MCUs Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Lauterbach, Git Knowledge of AES, SHA, Digital Signatures, HSM Experience 5–10 years of embedded automotive software development. 3+ years of hands-on experience in automotive bootloader and OTA development. Compensation and Benefits A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
